As a COOG, I'll be honest, we don't look like world beaters. We are good, not great. On the other hand, there is a good chance ISU and Arizona are the best teams in America. It will be nice to see you and AZ be #1 and #2. You guys deserve it after face planting Purdont at their place. Well deserved kudos.

The Big 12 will be a gauntlet. I fully expect BYU, Kansas, and Houston to be some of the best teams in the country by the time conference play starts.
@arcoog we’ve seen this before. Your team starting season slow but then boat race the league. You guys are the team to beat until you are not.

No way that I'm going to take anything for granted in this league. If you gave me a tie game with 28 seconds and the ball against Houston right now, I'd take it. The league schedule is going to be brutal, and everyone is going to have to learn and bounce back from some really tough stretches.
Can't wait ISU@UA! Shame there's only one meeting this year. I hate unbalanced league schedules. The old Pac10 had a lot of flaws, but every team played each other twice. Miss that.

Switching from the football threads it took me a full minute of wondering why the hell the Wazzu poster was talking about basketball to figure out what was going on.

ISU is my #1 team, but I am a Coog fan too living in Houston. Been to several games. Houston offense - geez, no inside punch. Not sure why Sampson can't ever improve on it. My guess is he prioritizes lanky big guys that can guard the perimeter and switch on guards. Hard to find 6'8-6'10" guys that quick that have inside scoring moves. Roberts improved his offense greatly through his years and Houston is missing a guy like Roberts they can dump it down and get a bucket.
Can confirm, that was a BLAST. And the takeover at ASU was really fun too.
