I share the same thoughts as you here, however I will say I did call out the AP poll last week for dropping Oregon two spots after winning @ Northwestern by 20.Not surprised to see us drop, and honestly I think 14 is plenty fair.
BUT, I'm curious how easy it is to find data out there that shows...
A. Our historical ranking before & after bye weeks, as a +/- (obviously this is only for seasons when we've been ranked going into bye weeks)
B. The same data broken down by conference over the last 10-20ish years. For instance, it feels like SEC schools gain a spot or 2 during bye weeks and Big12 schools drop. Wondering if that's paranoia or if there is data to back it up.
Lots of opportunity for movement next week too.
Indiana @ Iowa
Ole Miss vs LSU
Tech @ Houston (sneaky)
Texas @ Florida (sneaky)
A&M vs Auburn
AZ game is huge for Cyclones: Can't be a contender if we don't win, we'll definitely be seen as a pretender if we lose.
For the most part, I agree. But I have the feeling that some of the pollsters don't even watch the games.Indiana at Iowa would help us two fold making a win look better. Indiana going to be riding so high.
That is such a fishy score vs Illinois, there’s no way Illinois is that bad or Indiana that good. Pollsters agree or Illinois should be unranked.
Yeah I agree with that we need some help from our previous opponents they’re making us look bad.Indiana at Iowa would help us two fold making a win look better. Indiana going to be riding so high.

14th is about right, not sure why people get upset about us dropping when we did not play and others had some solid victories. People are still unsure just how good we are, and a school like ISU does not get the benefit of doubt, like a more named school would. Keep winning and we will be fine.
They don’t.For the most part, I agree. But I have the feeling that some of the pollsters don't even watch the games.
Hold your nose and root for Iowa? Ugh. I suppose either way there is something positive.Lots of opportunity for movement next week too.

Nah you can’t get upset about us dropping two. Dropping like 5 or something would’ve been ridiculous but only two while being jumped by other undefeated teams is fine.14th is about right, not sure why people get upset about us dropping when we did not play and others had some solid victories. I will not be rooting for them, but the bright side of them winning with us taking care of business moves us up in the rankings and also probably moves Iowa in the top 25 giving us a ranked victory.Hold your nose and root for Iowa? Ugh. I suppose either way there is something positive.
I think we have the potential for a top 8 seeding with winning out. Just get in baby...This isn't a national championship level team but I think they could be in the playoffs. Just hope we can win without a kicker.
The only way the B12 gets two teams is to have to 12-0 teams meet in the championship game, and then have the game be within 3 points, but high scoring so people cannot say its a boring game. The ACC is looking at getting Miami, FSU or Georgia Tech.I don't think we should get too excited about the chances of getting a second Big 12 team in the playoff. The AP voters are setting things up nicely for all of the SEC and Big 10 teams to have plenty of quality wins and quality losses so they are sure to dominate the berths with the committee's new emphasis on strength of schedule.
