ISU requesting more tickets!!!!!!

Got a chuckle out of this statement, reminds me of my youthfulness at the age of 20 when the Big 8 champion was an automatic bid to the Orange Bowl and we would throw oranges on the field at the end of big conference wins. We never went to the Orange Bowl. Nice to see your optimism and don't want to rain on your parade but chances of ISU playing in a National Championship are remote and a repeat would be equal to getting hit by lightning twice.

You are saying there is a chance?

Still chuckling at Toledo selling 350 tickets. That is the parents and families of their football players.

Kind of awesome that there will be a 2000+ student section there, given our normal student section is what, 7,000 (well, before additions from the hillside)

I'll take those odds!

This is awesome for two reasons.

1. Should have a bit of a home field advantage

2. Beale street is going to be rockin'.

In case you are interested in how other schools are doing for bowl sales:

Impressive RT @RossBjorkAD: #LocktheLegion hump day update: 19,500 BBVA tickets sold through #OleMiss

Brett McMurphy ‏@McMurphyESPN
UCLA sold out its entire 11,000 ticket allotment for Holiday Bowl vs. Baylor

Michael Rothstein ‏@mikerothstein
Michigan spokesman said the school has sold over 9,000 of its Outback Bowl tickets and is "closing in on 10K."

Impressive showing by Ole Miss.

Is there a complete list of each bowls' ticket sales per team somewhere out there?

I'd like to see some ratios, such as:

Season tickets sold / Bowl tickets sold
Average home attendance / Bowl tickets sold
Average student attendance / Bowl tickets sold
Miles away from home stadium / Bowl tickets sold

I think still Iowa state will have 20k fans at this game. I really hope Tulsa brings at least 5-7k. I know there fan base is small, but the fan base they do have is fairly loyal (at least it seems). There were more Tulsa fans at Iowa State, then Texas Tech fans or WVU fans, so I'll give them props there. I mean its also a shorter trip but still. I had no idea Tulsa was such a tiny school.

While it may not be public, I am sure all the bowl officials know which fan bases travel the best based upon these metrics.

I would imagine that Tulsa gets caught in the UNI phenomenon in which they share their local fans with Oklahoma or Oklahoma State, not unlike UNI fans tend also to be EIU fans.
