I reallllllllyyyy loved the bits with XF where TJ is pointing at Rob Jones and telling XF that's the energy he needs to bring. I would love to be wrong about the Jones pickup and things like that will make that happen. Also really like the conversation with Tyrese, not telling him explicitly not to take a heat check 3, but kinda hinting to him that if he does that, he's gonna need to really make sure to keep the other guys involved and be ready to bring it defensively. Just good stuff after watching a team that didn't seem to have any accountability last year.

You can really see why guys like playing for TJ. He maintains a calm and positive demeanor while pointing out precisely what improvements need to be made.
There are an awful lot of coaches who would have been in their players face for pulling a heat check (I know not in a game but looked like a practice game for sure). Instead he encouraged him to be aggressive on the offensive end and how to get the team involved on both ends after a miss. Fantastic coaching.

Not sure, so can someone remind me who is wearing the #34 in several of those clips?

Great video. Love the little peeks we get into the day to day. Does anyone know how this would compare to a CSP off-season in the past? Or is it all pretty much the same?

Gotta love the tenacity, but also have to wonder how a 6'5'' guy is hitting the boards the hardest when we've got 5-6 guys taller/bigger than he is.
I'm guessing best rebound goes to a rebound that had the most hustle attributed to it.

That's how you maintain authority as a player's coach. Izzo would've kicked him out of practice, and that works for him. TJ projects confidence and authority, which is something the last staff struggled with.

I got this feeling Robert Jones will be a much more important piece than most originally thought. Seems like a great team guy that has a motor on both ends of the court. At the end of this up coming season I bet we have a product that we can be proud of again.

Last I heard he was running into potential eligibility issues with is credits transferring from a private college. Has that been cleared up?

No inside info here, but from what I gathered, Prohm was doing a lot of drill work, especially on the offensive end. Muscle memory, situational drilling. For example, when you drive baseline, look to the opposite corner or wing. Against no defense, they would pass the ball around the key, drive baseline, pass to opposite corner/wing, ball back around the key, and do it again. Not a bad drill or theory. I do think he was limited by the number of players on hand, and when he did have a full roster, not enough talent.

But TJ is making everything a competition. Every drill is scored and timed. These clips look much closer to a real practice than a Prohm offseason.

And not sure if I heard it on a podcast or saw it on Twitter, but John Walters hinted that TJ is running their asses off. Not sure how Prohm handled conditioning, but it seems like TJ has picked up the intensity in the program.

I got the sense from that clip that Jones is not likely to play. He's a team favorite who the guys like to see succeed. Teams don't cheer like that for a starter/rotation guy because it's expected.

He will be the 3rd Center on a team where one of the guys in front of him is good for 3 to 4 fouls a game. He will play. Probably not much but he will get minutes.
