This is a really cool opportunity for the club team as they punched their ticket to the World Series, but have no way of getting there.
Hello friends and family of the Iowa State Club Baseball Team and community,
As many of you may or may not know, this past weekend was an incredible weekend for the Iowa State Club Baseball Team. For the first time since 2004, the Club had the chance to compete at the regional tournament in Topeka, Kansas. Entering the tournament as the 4-seed and at-large bid, the team knew that the odds were not necessarily in their favor. To start the tournament, the team was going up against the nationally ranked #10 Colorado State Rams team that had won multiple national championships over the last 10 years. To make a long (but awesome) story short, the team pulled off the ultimate upset and beat CSU by a score of 4-2 to start the double-elimination tournament.
This set up a rematch with the University of Iowa, a team that the Cyclones needed to beat for a variety of reasons. After quite a battle, the Cyclones were again victorious by a final score of 10-6. By winning this game, Iowa State punched its ticket to the championship game, where they would again (ironically) face the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Cyclones were not done. Again, after another incredible fight between the two teams, Iowa State punched their ticket to the 2015 NCBA World Series by beating Iowa by a score of 9-3. This is the first time in the club's history that they will be competing for a National Championship... which brings us to why we are asking for your generous help!
