First I have seen of someone having us in Independence Bowl (and against UConn). Also of interest,
Wash State in First Responder Bowl vs E. Carolina
Iowa in Reliaquest Bowl vs LSU
Minny and Cinci get Rate Bowl in Phoenix
Penn State in Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl (hopefully it is 20° and snowy)
TCU gets Pop-Tarts Bowl
BYU in Alamo (because of course, committee will leave them out of CFP)
Wash State in First Responder Bowl vs E. Carolina

That leaves Minnesota and Northwestern for Phoenix (vs Big 12) and Detroit.
And puts Utah vs Nebraska in Vegas.
Which clown show outfit is this? They have no Big 12 team in the Texas Bowl (#4 selection), but move ISU down to Shreveport (#7 selection)?
Driving through Phoenix and a giant digital billboard showed the Rate Bowl having KSU vs Rutgers. Hadn’t heard that yet.
Think that was the match-up a couple years ago. Rutgers is not even eligible for a bowl.
Assume Rogers will immediately be here Monday hiring coaches, retaining players, retaining recruits, bringing in WSU players and contacting those in the portal along with HS recruits from other coach changes. And preparing for a Bowl game. Any intel on the rules pertaining to timelines on all this?
Going full Replacements means blackout drunk to me.
We may be thinking of different Replacements though.
Hopefully the possibility of a 9 win season keeps people around.
Before he left, in the final meeting with players, if Matt Campbell didn't encourage these guys to finish out the season and play the bowl game before they either stay or transfer I'd honestly be a little disappointed with him. I'd have to imagine he'd want them to accept the bid and earn their reward for another winning season.
I think it’s pretty common for a few coaches to stay back to finish up with the team, and the new HC is also there getting to know the players and what not. Obviously, a lot has changed over the last few years though.
In all Honesty..... I think we should have coach Mac come back as interim coach and coach the bowl.
If all the staff is off to Ped St. then why not. Be a great way to honor him for everything he has done for the program for many years.
And can you think of anyone better at motivating a probably very unmotivated bunch of young people?
I get the sentiment, but these guys don't know him. There's only a handful of them that were born before "The Run", and zero that remember it. It would, however, motivate fans.
I think you give it to Heacock and let him lead his guys from the driver's seat for one last ride.
He has been back many times to talk to the teams all over the program.
They all know him, and what he is about. I have seen videos and pictures with current team many times.
He has been on campus a lot. And has been instrumental in WeWill I believe.
Some of you guys are crazy. It needs to be a staffer that knows the system. Otherwise you might as well forfeit. If they plan on playing, they already have some one in place
