In and of itself, I like that matchup and location. However, I wouldn't care for the 6-6 or 7-5 record that it would take to fall into that slot.

Oklahoma would eat our lunch…Memphis would be the most ugh factor. Falling to the Rate would mean a complete disaster of a season (maybe 1-2 more wins total)After leaving ISU out completely last week Bonagura has the Cyclones in the Texas Bowl vs. Oklahoma.
Schlabach picked the Armed Forces bowl against Northwestern.

College Football Playoff, bowl projections after Week 7
Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech -- and, of course, Indiana -- continue to surprise in the bowl picture.www.espn.com
Colorado was a very low bar and we clotheslined ourselves on itThat's a pretty low bar. They have totally imploded.
Dozens of tickets would be sold for that top tier destination and opponent.SI has us in Shereveport vs North Texas

Do you really think it wouldn’t be well attended by Independence Bowl standards?I worry the reputation of”ISU fans show up anywhere” could take a hit this winter if we really fall to a bowl like Shreveport vs North Texas.
Lots of factors at play that would play into fans decision. Let down season. Ireland in August. Bowl fatigue. Etc.
Depending on when and where, sure (for me).How does anyone care about these?
Agree with most of this......Sadly....just want them in a bowl game.......I'm an old dude who remembers them never ever playing around XMAS time.....Would enjoy having family and friends over to eat good food and watch game. Also....very happy we got the Hawks again! At this point I could care less about which bowl game we go to as long as we go to one. The extra practice time for the inexperienced players is far more important these days.
Bowl games don't matter unless they are the CFP ones. Look at how we beat Miami last year. They pulled Cam Ward, who was torching us, at the half and we scored with less than a minute left to steal the victory.
And yet, despite Cam Ward "torching us" the halftime score after his half was 31-28. He had much success, but they were by no means blowing ISU away.At this point I could care less about which bowl game we go to as long as we go to one. If we can get our skis back under us, I see the Alamo licking their chops to get us.Depending on when and where, sure (for me).
I tend to look around and see if there's anything else nearby going on. Like seeing the Spurs-Nuggets game the day before the Alamo. That has an impact for me.
And there is no way we hold Miami to 10 second half points if Ward plays the second half. And yet, despite Cam Ward "torching us" the halftime score after his half was 31-28. He had much success, but they were by no means blowing ISU away.
Well, I’ll watch ISU football anytime anyplace. How does anyone care about these?
I suspect that is true in and of itself. And there is no way we hold Miami to 10 second half points if Ward plays the second half.
