ISU Apologists

We are young? We are injured? I am trying to think of the other excuses that have been recycled many times over.

The refs? Southern teams don't come to Ames in November? CPR hasn't had enough time? We are rebuilding? Our schedule is too tough? Am I missing anything from the keep CPR no matter wins and losses crowd?

What is Richardson's record as a starter? What about Rohach? Not just based on that but on many other things I saw out of Rohach last year and Richardson over the last couple of years lead me to believe Rohach should be the starter.

I do not want people to the think all struggles are on the back of Richardson but he has happy feet and misses a lot of easy passes that many average qb's would complete.
Lets not act like Rohach is some accurate passer. Richardson at least is effective running the football. Brings that threat.

Ha...love watching teams the week after we make them look like NFL world beaters. Baylor is good....but meh-good. they will not beat OU for sure....I think stoops boot stomps them actually.

I was told by multiple posters last week that the 2014 version of Baylor was "significantly" better than the 2011 B12 champion OSU team.

Last week I was told that I overreacted to a smashing against Baylor. That the team was clearly progressing and that we should be happy with a 21 point loss considering our history.

So after another week of regression, what's the excuse now? Injuries, history, etc.? What justifies losing this way in year 6 of a coaches tenure?

Oh for christs sake...

Combined record of our opponents are 20-3 if I'm not mistaken. It's not being an apologist, it's just some of us don't feel like being overreacting and being completely unbearable when it comes to talking about football.

Nobody said they were significantly better. Quit being daft. Many were just saying they were slightly better and I still think that's true.

Yes, you forgot that negative posters on message boards are creating all kinds of bad karma that is making it hard for the head coach to implement his 12 year plan. Get out your pom poms and cardinal colored glass and join the parade. Nothing to see here.

Has to do with the tides. See below.

Oh and I forgot the obvious...we beat Iowa, anything else is gravy

I'm beginning to think some of you hate Rhoads so much that you don't want to see any positives. I get that, but why must you try and drag all of us down with you?

Who would you bring in that would get us where you want? I will support ISU no matter what, and I want Rhoads leading it. I'm sure I'm the reason ISU is hard to recruit to because I see the world for the positives. I keep filling my seats through the Waldens, McCarneys, Chiziks, McDermotts, Morgans, etc. I'm the reason that we don't have a coaching carousel like KU. It appears to work for them.

I am fine if JP makes a change at the end of the year, but I sure don't want that. I want my players to think that I support them and their coach 100% until he's not their coach. I make excuses, I know that Loth, Levi, Bundrage, PJ, West half the time, etc, were starters for a reason. I know that CPR made some poor hires and swung and missed on some recruits, I know that he took a chance on some questionable kids that got released. He is a first-time head coach.

You aren't telling us anything we don't already know. What I don't understand is how quickly some of you give up on the team, all in the precept that you are trying to send the administration the message that CPR has to go. All the while not giving the said administration the dollars to make a change.

Anyway, you won't care what I type, because I'm an excuse-making apologist, or TLDR. Because we aren't winning enough in YEAR 6, we need to move on to a Bill Snyder, Art Briles, or <insert name here>. **** CPR, we gave him 5+ years and he doesn't deserve the whole season to see if hiring Mangino and replacing his whole offensive staff as well as replacing a couple defensive coaches actually makes a difference.

3-21 between one legacy coach, (who didn't win enough), and Rhoads... You want to roll the dice? Then put your ******* money where your smartass mouth is...

LOL, yea none of us are giving Rhoads a chance. It's like you haven't been present with us since October of 2012.

And it's clear you fall in the first sentence of my post. 2012 was a bowl game, 2013 was a train wreck, 2014 is not even halfway gone and has youth, injuries, and a new offensive staff. Which I know are all excuses, but I also believe are valid reasons to wait. I saw a team that competed aside from all of my excuses, but couldn't finish their execution.

Remember the Big 12 was falling apart and ISU potentially had no home when the upper class-men were recruited.

Is that why we didn't go after David Johnson? That was a bad blunder by the staff that we've paid dearly for. But in reality we know we're as good as Iowa and probably Nebraska too, and those two will likely finish high in their conference division. We just play in a very tough conference, so we're going to have to get better, live with the frustration, or try to join the Big 10 or Mac. Actually I heard the Big 10 and Mac are aligning to form the Big Mac Conference and Ronald McDonald will be the commissioner.

Seems pretty clear that Rhoads can't win with his own players. He was hanging on a thread right before Jake Knott was injured. (Also, I realize he recruited Knott)

Then raise the money to boot him. I would guess that even if they win out you wouldn't want him here next year.
