He did. The regular people crowd was great. The students are just so disappointing.

Steve also was rather passionate in his press conference about how he doesn’t think the players have anything to be embarrassed about regarding the home losses. He was sticking up for his guys.

Who the hell asked that question to begin with?

I think they'd be way better if they hadn't played with Trey last year. I think he sucked all the oxygen out of the room, and they're having to learn to play again like a team.

Yeah I saw them in 2017 in Ames and thought they looked like a young team with talent...Trae Young really disrupted things there imo.

A couple of observations about the game which may or may not have already been discussed.

We seem to either shoot lights out from three or are terrible. If we could only average that out and shoot like 36% every game we would be in the drivers seat for a conference championship. Take a couple of threes away from our lopsided wins and add them to our close losses and we are somewhere around 12-3 right now.

Haven't seen much mention of Zoran Talley's contribution last night. Thought he did a nice job in the middle of their zone and made some nice hustle plays in the short time that he was out there.

I was kind of hoping that CA put rally towels on those upper student seats but I didn't see that they did. I would have swiped one after the first 10 or some minutes if they did.
Lew was looking for that too. Sometimes you can pick them up after the game, but a handful of kids swarmed through & snagged all the ones left behind. :D

Wasn't able to get my thoughts in the other night. The win over Oklahoma wasn’t convincing as we were down 15-7 quickly. Why ask why. The Cyclones needed a win and they got it. They got outshot 63-54 by the 3rd to last place team, but at least they didn’t get outscored by the 3rd to last place team. It seemed like for the first time in a long time, Wig wasn't about quantity of his touches generated by his ‘ability' and was about the quality of his touches. Kudos to him. On the opposite side of the coin, Tyrese Halliburton another off game. Nick Weiler-Babb another off game. The Clones just need the guys in the right minutes and roles.

When did we go from a team with crazy depth to forcing Weiler Babb to play 35+ minutes? Between Lewis, Talley, or Conditt I'd like to see those guys get 8-12 minutes to keep the rest of the group fresh. As for those still wanting Wig to start, keep it in your pants. Unfortunately for obvious reasons we can't start Lard and needs to be in his current role. Starters are fine, minutes need to be changed up.

I believe this team’s identity will be their defense if they make a run. As far as I'm concerned weak performances in 2 of the next 3 this season is a wrap. This team doesn't have a strong enough on/off switch to just turn it around in the postseason. IF we don't win 2/3 we better be real close.
