FUNNY. is it not normally there? I assume it isn't ...
I've been on this job for 2 months and never noticed it there. I think they are all supposed to be solid black or gold and pennant style. I sit in the cafeteria in almost the same place for lunch everyday too. When I go back upstairs I'll get another snap of it from the 7th floor.FUNNY. is it not normally there? I assume it isn't ...
I think they always fly the opponent's flag at some point during game week.I've been on this job for 2 months and never noticed it there. Odd. Never saw anything last week.I think they always fly the opponent's flag at some point during game week.
I know for a fact I've seen them do it for Big 10 opponents. Maybe they just couldn't get one for Albany??Odd. Never saw anything last week.
Albany people would probably love to know where to get one also.I know for a fact I've seen them do it for Big 10 opponents. Maybe they just couldn't get one for Albany??
That’s what scares me too. I think Iowa will be able to run it, and will be able to hold our running game down. We should be able to throw it on them, but what if Iowa is able to make it a really low possession game? Not sure how you can feel very confident here. My gut says Iowa has the advantage in the trenches both ways.
Agreed. I would also LOVE to see Iowa shoot themselves in the foot with bad snaps over the punter, or multiple interceptions to us coupled with lots of self-inflicted penalties, but like you said that hasn't happened against Iowa in a long time, our defensive line only rushes 3 on like 90% of downs and we don't bring pressure much, so I doubt it will happen. If the bolded happens, we win by 3 scores. And if we come out hot out of the gates and force Iowa to actually have to move the ball, the game will get out of hand.
Now, those two things haven’t happened against Iowa in a long time and we’ve been notorious for getting sucked into their style of play so we’ll see.
Yeah in game posters are not the brightest. To be fair non of us probably are. I know I make knee jerk reactions to plays that just happened on a field where guys are going 100 mph.Agreed. I'm expecting a close game and slog, but hoping for some Iowa mistakes which could lead to a comfortable win for ISU.
One thing is for sure: I'm so glad we have Rocco Becht as our QB. Dude's an all-time gamer by ISU standards. Hope some of you realize that because reading the game threads when he makes one mistake there's like 10 people pissing and moaning about it. Let's see you go out there, see the entire field, run for your life, make like several reads and check-downs all in a matter of a couple seconds and perfectly toss a strike every damn time. I get annoyed by those people.
He just continues to be the biggest Hawkeye homer while trying to be an unbiased journalist. It's cringey. A friend sent Chad's game prediction article from this week where he talks about all the concerns he has for Iowa but then has a 23-20 Hawk win. That's fine, but coupled with his live video reactions from the Albany game and how concerned he is you can just see his Hawk love shining through before each game where his black and gold goggles rear their ugly head. That and I just think he's bad at his job in general. Now what?
You have every right to have those thoughts. Could be concerning. But I would much rather be in our position in every other facet of the game than them. We're tested with two tougher games. They are untested. Our QB is looking in the zone. They are breaking in a new QB that had a horrible passing game against a bad team and will be playing his first road game in a rivalry game. They are out one of their biggest running backs. That’s what scares me too. I think Iowa will be able to run it, and will be able to hold our running game down. We should be able to throw it on them, but what if Iowa is able to make it a really low possession game?
I’m at a total loss for why anyone thinks we don’t have the edge at RB. Just because their mediocre backs had success against Albany?I really think things would really have to go wrong to lose tomorrow. We have Becht, we have Mouser, and we have the advantage at every single skill position minus RB. We even have advantage on punter and kicker. If Iowa has advantage at LOS, it’s not by much.
I would’ve said our RBs were pretty even but with their starting RB being out, I think we have that edge.I really think things would really have to go wrong to lose tomorrow. Fair, we may very well have the edge there as well. I don’t remember a year where on paper we had this much of an advantage. People really are looking way too far in our past 10 years with Iowa.I’m at a total loss for why anyone thinks we don’t have the edge at RB.
