In-state FB recruiting

I think Malloy could play safety pretty well. He's atleast on par with Cotton athlete wise. Maybe with the thinking of Knott being a safety they want a faster cover safety to pair with him?

I think Cotton is a much better athlete than some give him credit for. Malloy is a good comparison but with taking two safeties last year along with likely Knott this year and the fact that we have offers out to more of them, I just don't know where Malloy could play. He's a decent RB but it seems this staff wants to get guys that do something very well whether it be quickness or power or some other skill and while I think Malloy is an all around good RB, I don't know that there is one thing that stands out so if we are going to use or RBs strategically according to situation, I don't know where he finds snaps. I don't think he has the flexibility to play corner. I would welcome an offer to him because he is a good athlete and would find somewhere to play, but I don't know where that is and I think that is maybe what the staff is thinking.
 
OAmara is in my class and i'm good friends with him. The guy who said borderline D1 hasn't seen him play much then. He is a monster and a top 100 recruit how can offers from florida, nebraska, wisconsin, etc be borderline? He doesnt talk much about schools also.

I think that he stole a couple of recruits from them. I actually wish that he WOULD eventually coach at iowa. It's more fun to hate the opposing coach. KF has made some dumb decisions and done some things that are ignorant at best and shady at worst, but he almost always says the right thing. And he comes off as a respectful guy publically. Bielema would be back in the ORF mode where ISU fans couldn't stand him.

I agree. I think that he's a good player...but I just don't know how he fits in to ISU's scheme or position ranking for this class. You're right that he would most likely be a Safety. But with Knott on board, they're going to be pretty picky as to who gets that other spot. With how hard they are hitting FL and TX, I would bet that Malloy is a ways down the list as far as FS prospects.

I dont think Stoops has any desire to coach the Hawkeyes. Everyone hears things about his family being Iowa fans, which is true. Stoops is an Iowa fan, alum and loves the Hawks, but his career in coaching is at Oklahoma. Maybe when he retires from Oklahoma, Stoops will become an Iowa season ticket holder, but he will never be the head man at Iowa.

I think with Bret's age and Kirk's age, that opportunity could present itself to Bielema. Who knows if Iowa would even offer it to him, but if Iowa was interested, Bret would listen. Bielema bleeds black and gold and I think if he got the keys handed to him for the Iowa program, he would have a difficult time turning that down.

When the Hawk fan first mentioned Stoops replacing Ferentz at Iowa I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that he meant Mike Stoops. There is a chance that MS might leave AZ for the Iowa gig, but frankly I see no way that Bobby leaves a premiere post like OU for Iowa.

Oh, by the way, Mack Brown is just biding his time at Texas waiting for the ISU position to be vacant again so he can take over his dream job.:skeptical:
 
As far as Barkley Hill, as of right now hes sticking with Iowa State. Who knows down the road, but right now he says hes staying with the Cyclones.
 
Amarah Darboh released his top 5 and we aren't in it which is kind of surprises me considering how well PR is recruiting the state of Iowa.

The way Iowa has been recruiting tells me that they aren't planning on him going there.

It may be Wisconsin for him if indeed ND is full at WR like the previous poster suggests.

You mean, the fact that they've been missing on their almost all of top wideout targets (the ones not from Cedar rapids) the last few years, and have to be desperate for some decent prospects and quality depth? What does that have to do with NOT getting Darboh?

Oh, wait...
