How many TDs vs UNI?

I like to dream that the offense will come out with a huge chip on their shoulder with a lot to prove and play a great game putting up 450+ yards and 5+ TDs.
I Hope that the offense will come out and play respectable and put up around 400 yards and 4 TDs.
I think in reality the offense comes out and looks a little stiff still puts up around 380 yards and 3 TDs, leaving some points on the field with misakes in the red zone.
I fear that we come out sloppy and out of sync with 4 turnovers, less than 300 yards offense and 1 or 2 TDs.

and all of these are close to equally probable right now.

Doesn't UNI have 8 or 9 starters returning to their D? We lost our Arnaud, ARob, and Lamaak which were huge parts of our offense. I'm saying we get 2 maybe 3 TD's from offense

First, Arnaud barely played in that game. Second, every college football team loses talent, yet we have to be the only fan base that uses this as the main reason why our team will struggle against an FCS team. Not to mention that while the offense struggled last year, UNI was never in the game.

Our fans need to grow a pair for once...

Iowa has 3 Senior dlineman returning, including Binn and Daniels who were pre-season all big10 2nd and 3rd team selections respectively.

You can't pin that on the defense - it was the offense that sucked *** that game. The offense couldn't move the ball - of course ISU got outlined. The defense pitched a shutout with 4 turnovers - they got the job done.

I think it's virtually impossible to shut down a I-AA team worth their salt. UNI presented a balanced attack but the defense took advantage of mistakes by their QB.

If yardage is any indicator, then Iowa had a **** poor game against them in 2009 when they gave up 354 yards and were out gained themselves. Yes, they probably should have lost that game but UNI always brings a balanced attack and puts up a good fight.

Yes, the yardage was awful but the defense did what they always have with Wally at the helm: stand up inside the 20. In the end, that's all you can really hope for with most defenses.

If we are +5 on turnovers again this year, we'll get 4 offensive td's. I'd actually feel pretty good if we won the game in the 24-10 range. UNI isn't terrible. We are starting a qb that either hasn't performed well as a starter or a qb new to DI football, and first games are always a little scary.

My hope is that SJ looks outstanding. UNI's defensive line will probably be as good as Iowa's. If we can move them around, I think we'll do the same against Iowa which would bode very well for our offense in week 2.

Well, my grandma used to accuse young, provocatively dressed females of being 'all tarted up", so I'm guessing the poster is implying that the earlier poster had been tarted, but then for some reason wasn't tarted, but now is tarted again.

However, that doesn't seem to make sense in the context, so it could also be that the poster is developmentally disabled and can't spell while calling others developmentally disabled using an offensive term.

I don't want to come off horribly by doing this, but last night I posted a schedule breakdown of our 2011 opponents compared to how we have done in the previous 15 years. I set it up so that since this year's game against Iowa is home, then I only used the home games of the past 15 years for comparison. Same deal for the rest of the opponents on the schedule.

I'm sure you've considered the fact that with ISU scoring two defensive TD's that UNI basically had two extra offensive possessions from their own side of the field, right? That, and increase the lead greatly with defensive scores and that is all the sooner the offense goes vanilla...and Tiller was the starter...and the score was 27-0...I'll take that and the 100+ yard differential.

How many games in 2008 did we outgain the other team and still lost? Plenty. Yards gained is an utterly worthless stat when you prevent the other team from scoring altogether.

Almost half of UNI's total yards came on their last 2 drives of the game (148/320). Of those first 9 drives, 7 of them ended with UNI gaining less than 30 yards. Which game were you watching?
