How many games do we have to win....?

That's a tough one. There are going to be some growing pains in the transition, and while we have some returning talent, there are a lot of holes too. I'd be thrilled with 5-6, but I'm not going to hold the staff to a number.
Gotta beat UNI, San Jose St, and Kansas. After that, I just want them to look like a competent power 5 football team. Hopefully that means a couple wins from the group of Iowa, Tech, Wvu, Texas, Kst,
4 is a positive start, 5 would be enthusiastic support, 6 and he gets an extension

As sad as it sounds: 4-5 wins while being competitive and not seeing horrendous coaching decisions.
I really want to see fight through the whole season. If someone doesn't show up to play with effort, I want the next guy in there.
MC is winning the off-season. I'm curious to see how he handles wins and losses and what adjustments he makes.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt no matter how this season turns out, but I would say 4. I also think we will win at least 5.
I think it is more important to be competitive in more games

A bowl game means a successful season.. period!
Now on the other hand, I won't be disappointed with 4+ wins and signs of: 1)better in-game management, 2)strong signs of development from week 1 to the end of the season, and 3)we keep the recruiting fire going/add to it.

I agree, and I especially want to beat Purple Kansas - hate them with a passion.
Personally, I'd be happy with three, but I think it takes four to guarantee that recruiting keeps rolling.
I don't know about a specific number. I just don't want to see us losing winnable games with awful decisions or looking completely disinterested in playing football, which we've all seen a little too often over the last 100 years.
I think anywhere from 2-7 is a realistic possibility depending on luck and how the line performs. I think the staff will be judged more and rightfully so on how they perform in years 3-5. College football is cyclical and so I don't expect every year to be great but I think overall success is raising the bar for good years (8 or 9 wins vs. 6 or 7) and bad years (4 or 5 wins vs. 0 to 3 wins). Rhoads over performed off the bat and then got complacent. I don't see this staff falling in that trap. They are hungry I am optimistic based on eay signs they will raise our expectations.
I personally can't put a specific number on it. Last years team had the opportunity to win 2 more games right up until the closing seconds, so over all wins and losses don't tell the whole story. As others have said, I want to see a team who comes out and looks prepared to play. That doesn't mean I expect them to win, it's easy to get out talented in this league, but too many times, our old staff looked lost on what they were trying to do. And even that I have to give a bit of a sway, our old staff was in year 7, you have to cut a guy some breaks for first year on the job.

Adapting to changing conditions didn't seem to be a strong point of the previous staff. It will be interesting to see how Campbell actually coaches a team.
