Imagine having to drive Utah's equipment to Orlando or vice versa (34 hour drive). That would suck.
I mean thats what truck drivers do. Its their job. Most truckers make many long trips like that all the time, if not every trip.

Now if you are not the type that likes that kind of work, or road trips in general, yes it would suck. But it really is not much different than any other cross country truck route.

That being said, do these schools have a designated truck driver? Like does the same driver always go with the equipment? Or do companies like Decker have a rotation of available drivers they use?

I would guess that a company like Decker has a fleet of drivers and they use seniority to bid on the job. So the people there the longest get first chance at the trip.

I guess money is supposed to solve all these problems?

Don't we just love the B1G on all the time now? Huge game tonight, WA @ Rutgers. I can't wait. Don't wanna miss it.

Second thought, I can wait. Not watching.

Cross country equipment ride for WA? Or, with the added money they make (will make) in the B1G, maybe they will buy their own equipment jet?
Ship it PODS

Houston fans are realistic. In 5 games (20 Qtrs), they have only scored in 8 of those. Just looked, ISU has scored in 12 out of 16 Qtrs.

That drive to Dublin next fall is going to be a doozy!

If they're going to be mad at a coach be mad at Holgorsen for running the program into the ground. It's a big rebuild job even with NIL and the portal.

Fritz is a good enough coach they'll have at least one good win by the end of B12 play. And will be fine in the long run if they give him time to make the program his.

Thought their gameplan last night was sound, they just didn't have the personnel to execute when it mattered.

Yea, I don’t get the whole coach change talk from them. It is literally his first season at Houston and overall he seems to be a capable coach. Give him a couple more seasons to see how it goes.

‘Paulley is used to the long-haul trucking life, but there’s a major difference between the other jobs and the college football world.
“We can’t reschedule stuff,” Paulley told SFGATE. “On a normal thing, if I have a move and I’m gonna be a day late, I’m gonna be a day late. On this, there’s no being a day late. It’s ‘You have to be here at this time.’ The game can’t get pushed.”’

Their fan base is struggling with the reality that they are no longer playing in the AAC and every team now, week to week, is just as good or better than what they were seeing from the best teams in that league. Every team that has moved up finds this out, but every fan base thinks they are immune and will be fine. Its going to take them a couple of seasons to build up their lines and depth to play in the B12.

It's a little bit more understandable from Houston given their fans remember the decade prior to holgerson where they actually did notch a good number of wins against big 12 teams, even against Oklahoma when they were still here. They had reason to believe their program could be competitive with the Big 12 because it was.

That's interesting, I dont know too many trucking companies that will put up with their people calling in saying they are going to be late, whenever they want, especially not a day late. I can say if you tried that with most, you would be looking for a different company pretty fast.

Although I am sure they give them extra time to get to game locations than they would on a normal drive.

ISU has their pilot listed on their staff page, but not the truckers, but I would assume they have a similar situation to Stanford, with a couple drivers that take the routes, but are probably regular Decker drivers when not hauling equipment.

Well, they are a moving company, so that means they are probably moving household items mostly. If it shows a day late, it is a day late. Not like industrial freight, where a day late can shut down an entire factory.

Far easier to upset one team when it is the biggest game on your schedule and not even a blip on the other teams. Weekly grind gets these teams as well.
