Big Game guys & Manny Rojas for sure

Think Voelker, Riggins, maybe Ryder Block & Garvin
Who are big game guys? Is that the 3 you listed? I know that’s Carew’s club but don’t know who trains there.

Haven't posted on here for quite awhile. I get where people didn't like Crabs post, but... he isn't really wrong in my mind.

Look at recruiting and then look at standings..there is usually a really good correlation between the two. Dresser and company have definitely moved the needle since taking over but with our recruiting, i think our future looks a lot like who we are currently..a mid teens team nationally.

Manny is a huge pickup and I really like Casey too! But getting 1 top 20-ish type guy every 3-4 years isn't going to get us back into the top 5 range. Easier said than done, but Dresser really needs an ace recruiter on staff.

And at the end of the day, it all depends on what you want your team to look like. Dresser has built (and looks to be continuing to build) solid dual teams but a team that will only reach mid teens for national tourney. A majority of you team being 1-2 0r 2-2 types guys doesn't score you many points.

Again, I like our staff (for the most part), and I'm not trying to be negative, this is just the reality of where we are.
Been a minute since I’ve seen you post! Wondered what happened to you.

This is a good take. I think it’s worth mentioning that the potential of the team is still left somewhat unknown. We can’t deny the injury bug caused some serious issues with multiple of our top guys. Hell, even David was dealing with a mess of a leg his freshman year. Who knows if that would of limited his tourney that year too.

Getting these guys there is a good thing.

Closing the deal is an absolute "must".

If that doesn't happen it only extends the frustration.

Our Dresser-era recruiting classes definitely haven't been of a caliber to bring us into top-tier prominence.

That said, I feel like the guys coming into the program this Fall as well as the Rojas/Swiderski class have been a big step up from previous classes.

The culture change and wrestler development increased dramatically when Dresser came on board, and it feels like recruiting is gaining momentum and starting to catch up to this program's potential.

If we want to compete with the top programs the momentum needs to continue and the staff needs to start pulling in more of the blue-chip types. I'm hoping the current trend continues and the staff is making that happen.

I don't know who the primary recruiter is for our program, but it feels like Metcalf has that role more than anyone else. I'm guessing he had a bit of a learning curve to navigate when he joined the staff as he went from competing in Freestyle to coaching Freestyle then right into a DI Assistant Coach's shoes.

Here's hoping everything keeps trending upwards!
