HBO Max

If you don't mind reading subtitles (unlesss you speak Spanish), Maradona was really good. I'm not a soccer guy whatsoever, but he has a very interesting life story.

Finished White Lotus last night and strangely can’t stop thinking about it. Was it great? No. Was it drawn out and boring at times? Yes. But I thought the acting, music, and Hawaii scenery was excellent. Nothing really happens until the very end up I found my self oddly intrigued. I’ll probably never rewatch it but it was…interesting.

The wonderful human being in the spa just comfortably falls back to listening to the next group of neurotic rich ***** who show up? Not buying it.

Eh? That’s not at all what happened to that character.

Thought the new HBO series Nine Perfect Strangers was gonna be good. Nope. I made it three episodes and can’t do any more.

I finished it yesterday. The reviews on IMDB are glowing and I just don't get it.

Mare of Easttown is so damn good and I really wasn't interested but gave it a go based on recommendations in this thread. Just finished the 5th episode and man the last 10 or so minutes was intense. Haven't been that glued to a screen and fully engrossed in a long time. Kate Winslet has done a lot of great stuff but Mare is tops hands down imo.

The new shows seem to have reached a new low. The host of F Boy island is pure comedy…. If you can punish yourself by watching more than a minute or two…

I've never seen it but the host is Nikki Glaser who is really funny. She's absolutely savage on roasts.

Two weeks until football season and only 1 mention of Hard Knocks on here?

I actually didn’t enjoy this season of Hard Knocks. It was basically hour long love letters to Jerry Jones and the featured players didn’t have a ton of charisma. Dak is about as interesting as a spreadsheet about paint drying times. The highlight was watching Zeke struggle to wrap a package and Diggs’ son.

She's great on roasts but I don't find her funny at all in any other situation. I don't find constant sex talk all that funny, coming from comedians. I love sex and I love comedy but I rarely find them to mix well unless I'm directly involved.

I thought the payoff wasn't quite as rewarding as the buildup.

The kids stories wrapped in great happy and tragic ways. The adult character's stories didn't live up to that.

Still better than vast majority of first season shows though.
Can you like a show that if everybody were to die, I wouldn't care? I liked the kid, actually, but would have liked a horrible volcano scene for everyone else.

She has become absolutely horrific to listen to on podcasts.

Two big announcements today. HBO Max is now MAX and a new GoT

I still find it to be a fail that WB has never in some way been worked into their streaming names. To me, that is their biggest and longest standing brand, even more so than HBO.
