Speaking of boos. Noticed a couple times of heavy boos being delivered if an Okie State wrestler took more than a nanosecond to get back to the center of the mat after a stoppage. What a joke, people need to get off the you can't take any time in returning to center. Not saying wait all day for the guy but my goodness not everything at every second needs a stalling / boo.Personally in that match last night, I would like to see Plott stand straight up and put out his arms like "wtf" and just stare at Ferrari on his knees. Would have been crucified with boos in Carver, but worth it.
If he’s not in Ames you’re probably right.I’d put my money on Elam.
Lots of boos from idiots when David Taylor was asking Amine if he was ok to return to the match after his knee injury. DT appeared to be reluctant for him to return to the mat.Speaking of boos. Do you still wear your letter jacket?I know they are 2-4 years older than me, and yes, I do know I'm old.
Knee wrestling did not take off heavy until Robles did well.
I'd be shocked if he's even in Iowa City in 4 years.
There’s some rumblings the Bob funds are running low to keep buying and retaining guys.
I think you are confusing taking low shots verse wrestling from knee. I grew up in the 80’s and it was very rare to see knee wrestling. Maybe a quick to knee touch to set up shot. Smith never wrestled from his knee or at least not at NCAA’s.This is balderdash. Knee wrestling goes way back and was even more popular in the 80s. John Smith was a big knee wrestler. I personally am not a fan but Ferrari is fairly offensive from his knees.
Never know but it would be a surprise if he wasn’t. He might already be the face of Iowa wrestling. He’s at least the future face.
Seems doubtful, given the Bassett commitment and a few other studs and they expect to ink in that class. Even if it were, they have some other heavy hitters that includes an agglomeration of doctors, which will keep the dollars flowing.

Rewatch the first period. Ferrari made zero shot attempts in that period. I ran a stop watch and he spent 0:55 on his knee while not engaged with Plott. Then when he got up to his feet he immediately went into an arm extended thumb block which is basically another purely defensive tactic, but that is a conversation for another day.The whole off the knee wrestling discussion is silly. Ferrari and Ayala are not the first to do it. LOTS of guys wrestle from a knee, hell they were showing how to wrestle guys on a knee. Ferrari may be a show off fool, but the kid is a true freshman and just beat a several time AA. My kid wrestled him 3 times in highschool, and he did not wrestle from a knee. He is the most sound kid that I have witnessed wrestle In HS. This on the knee stuff is new, and I do not know if he would wrestle like that against a standard college kid, he might, but I had never seen that before. But the fact still remains he is damn good on a knee or not. If you watch Ayala, he uses a knee to get to attacks or to open them up, but he does not stay there.
I am not going back to watch it, unless there is a rule change, there is no stall. I have never witnessed any stall call from a kid wrestling from a knee. I remember when Robles won it, there were fans ******** that he had an advantage. We would all agree, he wrestled on a knee to slow things down, and he took shots maybe to just show he was trying to score? The reality, he took Plott down twice, 2-0 on takedowns. Highschool, we would teach to match level, and pretty much half shoot in fore head to forehead and try to get to tie and work them to your feet. Forrest might argue and try to get to a slide bye....IDK, but Ferrari had a plan and it worked.Rewatch the first period. Ferrari made zero shot attempts in that period. That 55 seconds on a knee is just as bad as moving straight backwards. I think if Ferrari was moving straight backwards for that long of time, everyone would want multiple stalling calls. Completely shuts down the majority of offensive attacks available to the opponent.

DT game plan sucked and Brands game plan was on point. That's what it came down to. They could have watched Angelo vs Carter and seen he wrestled from his knee granted he was much more active of getting out of the knee for tieups and fakes...but the fact still remained you needed to plan for that happening. Someone mentioned all Plott should have done was just stand there in the center and look at the ref.Rewatch the first period. Ferrari made zero shot attempts in that period. Just not true.
It’s very true actually. You’ll see soon enough.Just not true.
Iowa wrestling is not running out of funds for recruits any time soon.

I didn’t say anything about Iowa financially a few years ago. I don’t care if you believe me or not though.I might be confused about Smith but I'm not confused about low shots vs. wrestling from a knee. The point is the latter was around long before Robles. I'm guessing we agree that being active from the knees, including level changes, is different than using it almost purely for defense.
Where do you get this idea? LOL...wild comment.
Pretty sure you tried to pull this routine a few years ago, saying they were all tapped out of $$$ after fundraising for the new facility. It is/was clear that was far from the case.
This is a program that raised $24M NOT from Bob Nichols to build a wrestling facility, and recently raised a quarter million to watch people jump into ice water, AND got a commitment from Bo Bassett. They aren't running out of money anytime soon.
is this rumor or do you actually know something?I didn’t say anything about Iowa financially a few years ago. I don’t care if you believe me or not though.

It’s not a rumor. Getting Bo was great for them obviously but think of the trickle down effect that has on guys currently on the team.is this rumor or do you actually know something?
