Harper's Eligibilty???

I have seen plenty of video. I also know that all the Texas schools wanted him as a DE first. They backed off because of the academics. I see him as our first great rush end since Berryman, if he makes it here.

Harper could be a 1st class receiver or, with some weight and a nastier attitude, a big time DE. He seemed to enjoy offense more.

Harper seems like a great kid and with someone to push him to excel, the potential is very high. Indeed he was awesome vs eventual state champs Lake Travis and that was playing both ways.

Connally had Darks (who lived with Harper's family) playing out of position at QB because of his athletic ability. Darks has the smarts to succeed in class and has big time football smarts. He was probably expected to do too much in HS but he'll make a really good receiver or DB. He needs to bulk up as he had injuries junior and senior year that hurt him and that may be why he wants to go WR vs DB. Darks just has to grow up and focus on keeping his life going in a positive direction (like most kids his age). He's got personality plus and the athletic abiity to make a lot of fans.

Anyone know where Chase is headed? Very bummed that he didn't get it together. He really is a terrific athlete...football and basketball. Too many talented Connally kids are ending up going JUCO.

whos the TE we just signed this year?

Kurt Hammerschmidt. I believe that Carter Bykowski is expected to go directly to tackle, do not pass Go, do not collect $100.

In that two years, someone else might well become "our first great rush end since Berryman". Harper could well have been our first great tight end...ever.

I thought that Harper lived with Darks' family?

In either case, I suspect they both wanted to be on the same side of the ball. More togetherness, along with attending the same school.

I take it you're from pflugerville? Isn't there an '09 guy from there ISU is recruiting?

I think both Mike Busch and Keith Krepfle (sp?) were both great tight ends. KK played in the pros for a number af years. Busch went to baseball.

Stenstrud was OK at TE.

I always thought he was decent and my dad liked to point out how he rarely got the ball, but did good things when he did.

Really I don't think we've been bad at TE. Maybe not great, but there have been moments. Walter Nickel was exciting at times - Houtson Bowl, when he rolled over the defender, kept his feet, but was called "down".

Ok guys I am a new Cyclone football fan. Here are the real answers surrounding Chase Harper's eligibility.

1. Chase has not yet qualified but will very soon and will be enrolled at ISU in late August.

2.Chase has taken the SAT and is awaiting his scores soon

3. He could be the biggest sleeper in the conference when he puts on a ISU uniform. He has size, speed and some of the biggest hands you will ever see.

His football potential is off the Charts. He is also a pretty dang good basketball player.

Is he thinking of playing bball at ISU?

Darius is a football player even though he played basketball in high school and was pretty good, his BBgame is not D1 caliber. Chase on the other hand made all state in both sports. Will he try to play both... Maybe, my opinion is I hope he hits the books and concentrate on his best sport. FOOTBALL.
By the way Chase was recruited to play both by ISU. I don't know if it was a ploy te get him signed as a Football recruit or not. He did play the post in high school and there is not a big demand for 6'5" to 6'6" post in D1 ball

So Chase and Sed were both recruited to play both?
