The first time Gundy wears that OAN shirt in Ann Arbor should be PPV TV.
Make it $7 million/year. It will still be a 5 year deal, imo. Then Jamie goes to $5 million/yr for 10 years.

I got bored trying to find the latest exact amount, but it would be in the neighborhood of $6 million. So UM would be looking at Harbaugh’s, probably spread out over 3-5 years and reduced by whatever his new salary is, plus $6mm upfront for Campbell, with probably a lower initial salary.
Gundy has made a little over 57 million at OSU, his contract will roll over another 4 years after this year. He is only 53, was surprised at that, but I have read that if he ever is fired at OSU, he is done coaching, but that might just be talk.
Campbell is reaching the point in his career where he and his wife need to decide, do we move to win a national championship, or do we "settle" living in Ames, and retire with a statue erected of him when he retires from ISU. The money at ISU will never be what we could make at UM or other places, but the pressure to win is not comparable.

IMO Frost is safe for another year. They are going to give him a pretty long leash. Especially if McCaffrey shows promise at QB.
Same with Franklin. Penn State has been elite during Franklin's tenure- I would think their fans look at 2020 as an anomaly. Unless there is something going on behind the scenes.
IMO Harbaugh is gone. That team just doesn't look very talented. I would expect that Michigan would give Harbaugh the chance to step down. I have seen articles that Harbaugh is respected among NFL owners and would expect that is a direction he will go.
Michigan is an elite job. They have the financial resources and the state of Michigan produces a high number of elite recruits each year. So they will have their choice of coaches. If they offer CMC- he's gone. A successful coach will have Michigan a top 8 program and the chance to be a playoff team each year.
Fickel might be an OSU guy, but the OSU job might not open up for 20 years. Day is a young guy and depending on what his aspirations are, he could be there for a generation.

The people that worry about him leaving the most are the ones that are the loudest on here after a loss
Alabama had no problem giving Mike Shula a nice pat on the ass and a big severance check after 4 years (2003-6) at the Capstone, and he was a beloved football player in the 1980s.
Anyone who thinks Fickell's status as a Buckeye would cool UM on him needs to do some research on Bo Schembechler. BS didn't play at tOSU (Miami, OH) but he did coach there and was an Ohio guy...until he became the opposite. I'm sure the UM folks would love a Bo 2.0. And tOSU treated Fickell like a placeholder when he coached there so I'm sure he'd be quite receptive to UM.
It's been well documented that Harbaugh wears thin quickly. Beating the Buckeyes is the only way you stick at Michigan.
However I do applaud his attempt to liven things up coloring way outside the lines. Running camps in Texas taking his players for spring ball to vacation destinations really ruffled SEC feathers. Finding ways to standout will always make you a target for good and bad.

Different sport but Bill Fennelly made that decision a few yrs ago and it worked out nicely for him and Deb. ISU is a place a good coach can stay a long time at and really not have the worries other programs would have while still being pretty well compensated.
Stoops will coach at Iowa. I don’t see him taking a college job other than Iowa.
That means zilch in the coaching world. Heck, Schembechler was a Woody Hayes protege (Miami of Ohio grad) Ohio guy before he went to Michigan.

Coaches might have a predilection of a place they want to go, but they won't turn down a big job because it is a rival of that school. Fickell might like the opportunity to be the guy to get Michigan over the hump vs. Ohio State - especially since OSU chose to not retain him after being at the helm in 2011. As for the topic at hand, not worried either way.
fyi: If CMC wants to stay at Iowa State forever (my hope), GREAT! If not, I wish him well, and I hope ISU makes another wise choice to replace him.

As an Iowa fan that is my dream scenario. Jettison Kirk after this season and hire Stoops. (Yes, I realize it is extremely unlikely)
It would be a good get but I don't see Stoops coming back. He has made his money why come recruit to IC when you can do other things.
You don’t retire from Oklahoma to wait around for the hok job to come open.
Minus the Alma Mater part, CMC has the same bonus at ISU. If he continues how he has done we would be justified in putting a touchdown Jesus sized statue of him by Jack Trice when he decided to hang it up. He could make ISU very special. The whole time while doing it he would have no pressure, make a lot of money and be considered a God. Unless he is the second coming of Bo in Ann Arbor those people won’t remember his name unless he lives up to their absurd expectations.

Timing is always important with coaching moves. IMO it’s better if Harbaugh gets fired or leaves for the NFL after this season. Purdy has played himself out of a high draft pick, I think there’s a good chance Kolar comes back, and Hall has to return due to his age. If we close out this season the way we’re capable with an appearance and possible victory in the CCG then I think Campbell and his staff will be kicking themselves over that lackluster Louisiana game. They’d be in the playoff discussion. So you leave that on the table this season and with Purdy, Kolar, Hall and a deep offensive line coming back and several key pieces on defense and it will be hard for Campbell to walk away now. Rather I think he’d be more tempted next year after those guys leave along with Rose, Vance, Johnson, and other really good players in the current junior class.
