Harbaugh

there are currently 13 players from Ohio on Michigan. So what the theory is is they won’t allow a traitor come down and get recruits but they like Harbaugh enough to get him recruits? Gotcha

How many of those guys were takes for OSU or had ties to Michigan?

OSU can't recruit everyone from Ohio, and Harbaugh is actually a pretty good recruiter working at a place that isn't hard to recruit to. Just can't recruit as well as the team to the south.

smh. The point you are making is nonsense. Kid choose schools for many reasons. None of those reasons are the coach in another state was not originally from that state. If Campbell took the Michigan job it would give him more power in Ohio than any other coach in that state minus Ohio State. Not that he would take the Michigan job butthe theory you have is garbage.

People just need to realize that CMC will be here as long as he WANTS to be here..... and if he leaves it will NOT be because JP didn't do enough to keep him here.

The only reason I think CMC leaves is if his dream job becomes available or he accomplishes everything he's wanted to do here and needs another challenge. For me, it doesn't concern me at all because there's nothing I can do about it..... and like I said, JP will have done everything he can too..... so if CMC decides it's time to go..... he'll be gone and there's nothing that can be done about it.

I think we are kind of lucky and he wants to build his own version of Mt. Union in Ames. He may decide to leave someday if he doesn’t think it can be done at ISU. I hope Michigan does come calling because turning down that job or refusing the interview would be good for ISU.

Bo was an Ohio guy who coached at OSU for Woody. So the thought that an Ohio guy can't get Ohio recruits or beat Ohio State is just foolish. In fact if I was Michigan, I would hire an Ohio guy. The only success they have had against OSU. That being said, CMC is a family man, so if momma and family is happy like everyone is saying then no problem.

The internet and tOSU winning national titles and Michigan not even sniffing the playoffs.

The hatred between Ohio State and Michigan is a lot older than the Internet. It is probably the most (or at least one of the most) intense rivalries in all of North American sports.

Michigan wasn't doing so hot before Bo came up north. The coach before him went 51-42-2 from 1959 through 1968 (2-7-1 against Michigan State and 3-7 against Ohio State). They won on Big Ten title in 1964 and won the Rose Bowl over Oregon State after that season. Otherwise? Meh.

They fired him (Bump Elliott) after Ohio State beat them 50-14 and went and got Bo to turn it around. Bo was born in Ohio, played for Miami-Ohio, was an assistant coach for Ohio State and Bowling Green State before becoming the head coach at Miami-Ohio and then moving up to Ann Arbor.

Sorry, but there simply is a major precedent of an Ohioan saving Michigan football out there. The situations really are not all that different -- Woody won two natties during the 1960s.

I do not think Campbell is leaving for Michigan. I do not think they are about to fire Harbaugh. But the precedent of looking south for somebody (e.g., Luke Fickell or Campbell) is there.

Heck, McCarney was a Hawkeye right off the Fry tree, and now he's one of our beloved elder statesmen.

Can we talk about stuff that has actually happened in my lifetime and not the time period where my parents were infants?

I like your thinking but ISU is not winning all three of their remaining games. I hope they do but other than a struggling OU team ISU has beat 4 bottom feeders.
How'd that prediction turn out??
