Harbaugh

Too lazy to link, but SI has Candle and MC as the top two choices. They include Fickell as well as Clemson’s OC, Heupel and Grinch. Honorable mention to Leipold at Buffalo, who may have even got an interview when MC was hired, or was at least a serious candidate.

If I was Michigan, I'd first contact Fitzgerald. Who knows if he'd ever leave but worth a shot.
Then I'd peek at Gundy, Mendenhall, Fickell type guys.
I think Fitzgerald is pretty solid but then I remember the division he’s coaching in.

True, and people look at them as historically bad, but really since Barnett in the 90s they have been mediocre to really good. I think he is a good coach, but overrated a bit.

The previous three seasons before Walker died and Fitz took over, NW was 14-10 in conference. And that was before dog crap divisions. So they played OSU each year, and overall the schedule was pretty tough.

*IF* Campbell were to leave soon, I do wonder if we'd go after Candle?

It will be tough since he's a Michigan guy. It's be similar to if Fred weren't successful here. How do you fire one of your own?
Everyone loved Fred because he was such a good guy. They hate Harbaugh because he’s a weirdo.

I hope that’s what they do. But we are kidding ourselves if we think campbell isn’t exactly the type of guy they think of.

no way they go for that hick gundy
They hired RichRod, albeit it was a bad hire, and Gundy is waaaaayyyyy more proven and has had an acrimonious history with Okie State lately.

And I'm not sure Fitz would leave either. Maybe for the Bears in 5-10 years but I know I would atleast call him.

I'm not sure if the XFL thing was just to stay busy for a few months with no recruiting necessary but Bob Stoops would kill it at Michigan.
