Hamilton Considering Cal, LSU, Virginia

Maybe ISU restricted where he could go. With that in mind, Cal shouldn't stand a chance. ISU typically doesn't allow players who are currently on the schedule.

ISU can't restrict where he transfer. Big 12 transfer rule applies, but he can go wherever he wants as he isn't signed for next year.

Pretty sure we can. we did it with Wesley Johnson. Only offer the letter of release if he agrees not to go to x school.

For Ham to talk directly with any school right now, ISU has to issue "permission to contact" letters to said school. So if he is speaking directly with coaches as the article says, then ISU has OK'd it.

I have a hard time blaming anyone for such nitpicky things when there choices are so public. I'm sure that I would think twice about how I explained the personal choices I make on a daily basis if I knew that the reasoning I gave for my choices were going to be discussed by others ad nauseum.

McDermott Confirms Personnel Changes - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

“I appreciate everything the Cyclone Nation has done for me,â€￾ Hamilton said. “The fan base, my teammates and the support of the community at ISU has been incredible, but I just feel I need to be at a school closer to home where my family will have a better opportunity to watch me play. I appreciate everything Coach McDermott and the coaching staff has done for me. They have helped me improve as a player and person.â€￾

Hamilton bold faced lied about wanting to play closer to home. This is unexcusable.

This reminds me of coaches who slap each other on the back and say what a great guy and great coach the competing coach is. It gets said so often that you question the sincerity of the statement. I seldom believe it...

What a ****... I need be closer to home in Utah so I'm going to Louisanna? He can eat ****.

Why does it matter what reason he gives? I could care less what the reason is.

Unless of course, it's because he hated the coaching staff.......

Maybe he didn't give the real reason because he didn't want to trash the coaching staff and make ISU look bad.

Yep, every player that leaves is a ****. I mean, look how many players we have that stick it out all 4 years. There's Diante, Boozer, and, um, .............did I say Diante?

He supposedly has sources with inside information to ISU athletics. Why should his age matter? If he is old enough to post, he should be old enough to take responsibility for what he posts. It's not like the information he is sharing is about the Ames 5th grade BB team. It's about a major university sports program.

Hopefully when your nephew is learning English language, his parents will teach him what "distinct" means...
My source was wrong, maybe I should have phrased it differently, but it was a possibility based on the source. Happy?

Like I said earlier, what's wrong with giving the "It just isn't working out for me here at ISU and I'm going to exercise my other options" line? It would have been much closer to the truth and he wouldn't have alienated the fans in the process.

No one is happy. But credibilty took a major hit with the source being wrong.

It's not that different from a reporter getting bad info from a source. People now naturally lower their respect for that reporter and are much less likely to believe them next time around.

Who cares if he alienates a fanbase at a school he no longer attends?

You're right, it would have been closer to the truth, and it would have also been more negative for the program's reputation. It immediatelys raises the follow up question of why weren't things working out?

Nobody knew...it was a bunch of hearsay. We found the answer, get over it.
