Greta Van Fleet

Better than plant is laughable. I also don’t like their hooks very much but they are a solid band. Fun to hear kind of a new take on LZ.

Dang it. I honestly opened the thread title hoping it was a recruiting nugget to the Fred VanVleet family. Like maybe he had a stud brother his mom was sending our way!

She's pretty smart...

I understand that you might not like Plant, but you can't really argue with the voice and the notes. Especially after a 50 plus year career.
I actually find that he sounds the same in every song, painting them into a fairly one dimensional sound. As far as the notes go, I think Plant has a higher range, but other than that its about the same except Plant being more raspy. As far as having a longer career ok, but what does that have to do with me liking him better? I'm not saying Plant isn't good.

Because your initial post didn't say that you liked him better, you said that he was better. This is your opinion and your opinion can't really be wrong. I'm just saying that it is a pretty hot take to claim that the guy is better than Robert Plant.

I'm glad that people who like GVF found a band that they like who actually sings and plays.

Ok so what are we talking about right now?

They’re wearing Zeppelin like a skin mask, but I still like it.

They’ve also become cool to hate, and the lead singer is a pretentious twat, but it still rocks.
Idk where you're pretentious twat comment stems from, so if he's done something obvious that I missed, my apologies, but I met Josh and Jake Kiszka randomly in Minneapolis while they were walking around the city before their show at the Armory. Could not have been nicer and more gracious to take a picture and chat for a few minutes.

On the band, they're great. Definitely influenced by past bands and his voice is too similar to Robert Plant for it to go unnoticed. Put on a very good show live. Would recommend

I think he probably meant how the lead singer acts like it's shocking that people think they sound like LZ, including Plant (just painting them as an "influence"): https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...time-to-stop-the-zeppelin-comparisons-779296/

Rip offs. They should go on tour with that group that plays Iowa State Fair every year that does outfit changes.

The lead singer once said something to the effect of "we've barely listened to Led Zeppelin".

Ok dude. Sure.

Like I said, I like them quite a bit and don't get the hate train, but that's just a lie.

The best new rock band I've heard in years. Their first album was pretty fantastic and the follow up is solid as well.

I hope they keep churning it out for years.

I don't give a rats ass that they sound like Led Zepplin. They rock and they write good songs.

The haters can suck it. Seems like the trend lately is to find something to hate rather than actually liking anything. That's a stupid way to go through life.

Seriously, I'm trying to think of another new rock band in the last several that I have really liked.

There have been a few songs that have been ok, but most new bands go the full pop route and never write real rock songs. Or there are alternative groups that I wouldn't put in the rock band genre either.
