Georges vs Royce

Royce and I'm not sure how it's a question.
Are we talking 1 year of Royce vs. 4 years of Georges? Because I'm taking 4 years of Georges without a second thought. If we're talking about one year of Royce or one year of Georges, I'd take Royce.

Why would we be comparing one year of Royce to four years of Georges?

...Because we had Royce for one year and Georges for four? If this is a hypothetical where Royce is somehow here for four years (which never would've happened ever, by the way) then I'd take Royce.

Why are years relevant in this hypothetical? They aren't.

Definitely Royce if considering just wins & losses. Since I care about more than just wins & losses, I'd pick Georges if I could only have one.

That's something I try not to think about. I try not to think about having him for two...
No kidding. The '12-'13 team could have been something really special. I wish things would have worked out for Royce.

I love Georges but if I had to pick between the two I would pick Royce, no question. Just a freak of a college basketball player.

Jamaal Tinsley was a turnover machine and continued that in his game in the NBA. The team won in spite of his careless handling of the basketball.

His game had flaws but it reeks of revisionist history to say that the team won in spite of him rather than because of him. The dude went 57-11 at ISU and never lost a game in Hilton in his two year career. After the first year they lost the only draft pick (lottery pick, at that) on that team and he led them to another conference championship the next year.

You are making yourself look foolish.

Gimme Georges whether its 1 year or 4. Royce had issues prior to getting here, that's how we got him. He knew it was his last chance and focused on bball for a year or two. He was not stable before or after his 2 years here. Georges is everything I ever hope a Cyclone could be. Great talent and great teammate and as far as I know has no skeletons. Royce was better at certain things but George's is far more polished. Royce could do whatever he wanted on the court, but far too many concerns for me to ever be comfortable with.
If basketball were about talent alone then Royce would be in the NBA. Georges would fit well on ANY college team in the country, the same cannot be said about Royce. How would Royce do under Prohm? Hoiberg was every bit as important to Royce as Royce was important to ISU.

Georges.

Both get shots and make them with similar efficiency at the rim and in the paint.

Royce is a more gifted and flashy passer but not really all that much more effective.

Niang can shoot much, much better than Royce and space the floor. Also a better FT shooter.

Not to mention Niang right now is about the same age as Royce was when he played for ISU.

Niang if I'm building a team, Royce if I'm playing one big game. I'd take Fizer over both of them though.

I agree with this assessment completely. I will add that Georges makes the players around him better, but Royce didn't need to because he was so good he could dominate at one end regardless of his surroundings. Georges is a good leader and has an uncanny knack for saying the right things in public and behind the scenes (from what I've heard). But I'll never forget the first time I ever heard Royce on a radio interview after his first game in an exhibition win. I heard him use this phrase repeatedly, "My team". And it was true. I think that tells you everything you need to know about how dominate Royce was. When he stepped in the gym, ISU became "his team".

Yet I loved Marcus Fizer.
