watched this concert in Tampa a month ago, as a huge George Stait fan I was sadly disappointed. The acoustics were bad, not the performers fault, but the sets both guys played left a lot to be desired. I know they don't want to play the same set over and over but some really obvious misses. Hope they kill it in Ames, wasn't worth the 180 per ticket

When you have the hits that George has, no way you can do all of them in one show.

We saw George a couple of times at Wells Fargo, my wife loves him, me, not so much. He does put on a good show, no theatrics, just gets up on stage and sings. He likes the stage in the middle, so he can go from corner to corner and sing to that side of the stadium. My wife was excited when I told her he was coming to Ames and she is looking forward to getting tickets.

Wasn't there some kind of Strait festival that used to hit JTS way back in the day?
1999, I was in college at the time and didn't go but a guy on my floor worked as an usher at JTS that year and worked that event and when he got back after working it said it was an awesome event.

History of concerts at JTS: https://www.concertarchives.org/venues/jack-trice-stadium Didn't realize that U2 played once and Rolling Stones twice

I'm not gonna lie, I saw a thread title with the words "George Strait" and a date and was very sad.

This is the opposite of that!

Similar situation here, but sounds like I like him more than you. My wife loves him. We saw him once at the Mark here in QC with Miranda Lambert, then my wife and daughter went to Des Moines to see him. My bride is also excited. She would stand in line all night to get tickets to see him I think. LOL.

Actually, that is only a partial list. Many concerts are listed under cyclone stadium from before the name change. I was at the Pink Floyd concert in 94. Incredible show.

Probably have some sort of temporary flooring installed. I saw U2 at Arrowhead some years ago and that is how they protected the turf.
I've been to a couple concerts at Wrigley Field and that's what the did to protect the field. Looked like some perforated snap together panels so you weren't actually standing on the grass but water/sunlight was still getting to the turf so it didn't kill it.

My daughter asked me if this was the first. I mentioned that I worked the Floyd, stones, EltonJohn/Billy Joel (actually ran into my sister at this show)and Farm Aid all in one year.
