They must be counting irrigation in that 10 inch rainfall number, because Ames absolutely did not get 10 inches of rain that week.

Anyone know how much $$ the AD made on this event? Had to be a decent revenue generator. Tickets were more expensive than a home football game, but not sure what % of ticket sales went to the musicians? 75-80%?
Definitely wasn't the beer sales.I heard a crazy statement somewhere that our athletic department made more money from this one concert than they did from home football game ticket sales for all last season. I have no idea whether this statement is true, though.
Regardless, given the enormous financial challenges caused by the new pay for play environment, I think our athletic department will be doing all they can to schedule more concerts in the future.
Some things to tweak for sure but an overall success.I heard a crazy statement somewhere that our athletic department made more money from this one concert than they did from home football game ticket sales for all last season. I have no idea whether this statement is true, though.

Where did you see that statement because I want to know who's got the drugs that make you say something so outrageous. Everyone in a panic about the field condition can let go of those pearls now.
I think more are coming no matter whatI'm surprised they posted that because the rumor around Ames was the turf crew was not happy about hosting this concert. That post gives JP ammunition to host more of them.
Jamie said it on Murph and Andy. Really not that hard to believe either since Iowa State only makes 14M from football ticket sales.Where did you see that statement because I want to know who's got the drugs that make you say something so outrageous. That has to be some primo level stuff

I’m finding it hard to believe that we charged 14MM for JTS or charged a different amount and made up the difference in parking and everything else.Jamie said it on Murph and Andy. Really not that hard to believe either since Iowa State only makes 14M from football ticket sales.
The average ticket probably was around $400 for the concert. Take that times whatever the total ticket sales were. Let’s say 60,000 people bought a ticket. That’s $24,000,000 in just ticket sales. Parking and vendor sales adds however many more millions. After payroll, ISU had to have grossed at least $15,000,000.Jamie said it on Murph and Andy. Have you seen what the attendance (or ticket sales) was? Curious how many were in there.Since the game of telephone has taken over, here's the actual quote:
"To put it in context, there were more ticket sales that night -- in total dollars -- than we do in a whole football season, which is absolutely amazing."
He said nothing about overall revenue, nor how much will/did end up in ISU's pocket.
What we do know, based on the last set of data submitted to the NCAA, is that ISU reported $16.1M in football ticket sales in 2022-23.
Interesting. I never heard about this locally.Zac Brown Band was just at Arrowhead.
Almost same exact looking stage setup that was at Trice.
That would be a fun show for Ames:

Saw that concert up in MN mostly because I wanted to see Kenny again. ZBB was good, but Kenny... man if he came to Ames I would spend ungodly amounts of money to get front row seats.Zac Brown Band was just at Arrowhead.
