It is crazy to think that ISU WBB could have the opportunity to knock of the nation's #1 team and then 3 weeks later have a chance to knock off the new #1 team. And that would all happen outside of conference play.

28 NOV #1 S Carolina
17 DEC #2 UCONN

Hell of a non-con schedule...

It is pretty cool. I don’t think they’ll do it, but if they can make both good games they’ll get lots of respect

Might as well win 'em both.

But what if when we beat SC, we become number 1? Do we beat ourselves?

Between the two I suspect that we will have a better chance against Connecticut versus South Carolina. South Carolina brings back, I believe, 11 of 12 players from last season‘s team. Yes, they lost their monster post player, but they just reload like many others. UConn last year was scrappy, but showed they had weaknesses.

*injuries galore* a year ago, correct?

Win those two, and I assume ISU will be #1. Crazy.

But tough games like that, and probably at least one being a loss, prepare a team for March, and a Natty is more important than a #1 ranking.

We are really deep and talented, but SC and UConn are elite. We are going to need some girls to take a giant step in their development. It would also help to be white hot from three. Like others have said, it will give us a good measuring stick early in the season.

Going to take scrappy defense and an amazing offensive effort to beat either one. Can it happen? Definitely. We don’t know yet how deadly the offense will be with all those shooters…we can hope it comes together quickly!
