Dahmen is what I aspire to. Just get paid a lot to play golf without becoming as psychotic as those guys have to get to have a chance at #1.

I suppose. I guess there was something about the self-loathing that I didn't love. You've been given an incredible gift and you should want to maximize it, and it seems like everyone around him agrees.

It was ok. I was hoping for more of the relationship between players, but it was still entertaining. Don't really get much that you couldn't get in a traditional interview setting.

My likeability ranking on those featured:

1) Finau
2) Theegala
3) Fitzy
4) Scheffler
5) Rory
6) DJ
7/8) JT and Spieth tied because they may be the same person
9) Dahmen
10) Mito
11) Poulter
12) Brooks
Brooks Koepka came out of this thing looking horrible. Poulter too. All the LIV guys actually just came across as people I now have no problem rooting against. Just a bunch of villains and douche bags.

Mildly interesting, yet leaving me wanting a lot more. I’ll finish it and be disappointed. Maybe that’s on me, either way… something that was new, but could have been a lot more.
I wish there had been twice as many episodes. They had to have had plenty of footage. I wish there had been more on course footage of interaction between the players and more player/caddie conversation during decision making time.

This could be “bad” for a reason…. Viewer feedback. So they can hone their next series.

I still haven't watched it, but I imagine this was the intended result. Just like in Drive to Survive, you need characters that people want to root for as well as against. They may be exactly as they come across in the show, but with the right editing you could portray just about anything you want.

I think Brooks wife came off bad, but I think Brooks kind of made himself look slightly more sympathetic. I think he's a guy with a very expensive lifestyle (wife...) who realizes his best form is never coming back. He took the cash because he knew he couldn't win anymore and was kind of open about that.

Brooks came off like I figured he was, but was hoping he wasn't. I agree about his wife... I don't see them lasting very long, unless he just puts up with her?

And you can tell he's very frustrated with his game... but instead of fighting through it, he's just opting to take the easy way out and cash a huge paycheck no matter how terrible his game is.

And as far as DJ goes.... this guy just basically admits he doesn't care about legacy, championships, etc.... only the money matters to him. He flat out says..... "who wouldn't choose to get paid more for doing less?". I can understand the Poulters, Mickelsons, and Westwoods of the world going to LIV... their careers are over.... go get the money.

Now that I am done my impressions.

JT/Speith are exactly who I thought they were. But that episode wasn’t all that informative for me.

Brooks was interesting because his armor actually came off. Of the guarded guys he was the most revealing. His move to LIV really was interesting. Also interesting timing on the stories saying he is looking for a way back to the PGA. No clue if they are true.

Poulter - while I will never like him. I understand him a lot better. Also his move to LIV is the one that makes the most sense. Although, he could have been around the PGA tour for a bit longer, it was increasingly hard for him to earn money. He looks at LIV as the last big pay day. I think he will regret that if he misses Ryder cup captaincy and tour of champions opportunities.

Joel Dahman - what’s not to like here. Dude is paid well to golf knows he is lucky to be there. Earned a bag for his kid on the way. That was a feel good episode after two downer LIV episodes.

Fitz - typical coming of age hard work story. Nothing particular interesting to me.

DJ - did it all for the money. And Paulina, which when you think about it is the same thing. He didn’t hide it, so good for him being honest.

Finau - when you thought you couldnt like a guy and root for him more. He drops the who gives a **** about golf and money. I need to be here for my wife, and then secures a nice bag while doing so. He couldn't have looked better if Hollywood wrote the script.

Morikowa - while likable there were a couple moments in there where his entitlement showed up. Otherwise he is just a young kid who is good at golf. And had the sense to say no to a god awful outfit.

Theegala - loved every second he was on screen. Full stop

Mito - watching that PGA blowup was hard. And knowing it was coming was really freaking tough. Cool to learn about him. Wish they dove into the “why he quit playing” a bit.

Rory - what a can be said. He is the guy Golf needs not the one it was promised? He isn’t Tiger, but he is damn good and to me said things that needed to be said. Has everyone’s respect. Losing to Cam Smith was tough. But pulling a full Rory and winning the FedEx was pretty good comeback. Also the P Reed drop and Phil references were great. The game is in good hands with a guy like that leading the charge.

Overall not as good as the first season of Drive to survive. But I think that’s because while these guys compete against each other they really don’t hate/dislike each other except for a few guys who all went to LIV. Racing creates conflict. JT beats Speith, they still fly home on the same jet. That ain’t happening with Hamilton and Max. Sorry for the long post.

While many people may refer to Brooks/Bryson as villains I’m not going to lie - I miss having them on tour. Who does the PGA tour have left that is as polarizing as Bryson claiming that he views Augusta as a par 67?! That brought a ton of eye balls, whether you’re rooting with or against him. It’s like taking the “bad boy” Pistons out of the NBA in their prime.

Mito left for the LIV Tour too now I believe. Which isn’t surprising since his best golfing buddy Niemann? had already went there.

****, I didn't' realize it. It will be interesting to see if getting on TV helps them or not. I don't think most of those guys thought through how much sponsorship money they would lose. No one is paying if you aren't being seen regularly.

Oh I agree with that, but I will say they will ultimately miss the PGA exposure a lot more than the PGA misses them. There will be new villians in time. Although when you think about who went to LIV, getting paid goes with the personality.

I totally agree with this. Honestly, while there may be some I like more than others between Rahm, Rory, Speith, JT, Morikawa, Homa, Hovland, Scheffler, etc., but I don't really have a strong preference who wins. They are all kind of the same guy. I think part of the joy in watching golf is as much about having someone to root against as it is someone to root for. Part of the reason you wind up rooting for, say, Spieth is because you don't want someone like Reed or Poulter to win.
