Friday OT: what is that?

Is that the underground SAC base in Omaha?
Maybe?
I couldn't find the pics we took of the one we toured at Whiteman AFB in Missouri where my son was stationed, so I found one online that was similar to what I remembered from about 10 years ago. My cousin was in Wichita Falls, if I remember correctly.

I shelled corn for a local farmer up until the late 90's. He was pretty much the last one in the area to quit picking corn. You
stumbled across some scary **** in the bottom of some of those corn cribs!

Found raccoon/ cat carcasses in a few at the top. Shelled a side of a crib was so gray/black once that the corn moved due to the mice and rat infestation. We actually taped our pant legs to our shoes to prevent mice from climbing up our legs.

Confession...I kinda liked this back then.

I loved it. Then brought it back and then yanked it away again. Pepsi Co. can go EABOD!

I'll fight you on that one. It was introduced as a novelty flavor in '84 but because it was awesome it persisted through until 2001.

Ecto Cooler was introduced in 89 in conjunction with Ghost Busters 2. Ironically it was just a previous flavor called "Citrus Cooler" and they just made it green and through Slimer on the label. Everyone went crazy for a flavor that already existed... with that being said I was a fan of EC but Fruit Punch was always my go to.

One of the round wire cribs we cleared out every year would be full of snakes in the bottom. NOPE!

When I first started helping my family shell corn my grandpa always told us to tuck our pants into our boots so the rats don't run up inside your pant leg. I adhered to my grandpas advice and sure as **** one of the first times I was in a corn crib one of those little demons ran up the outside of my jeans. EFF that!

Before these came out we had to use a "church key." Whenever I would get ready for an evening out, I had to make sure I had my wallet, matches, cigs, and a church key.

When these pull tabs first came out, we found that they could fit in parking meters if you separated the pull from the tab. Apparently they also jammed the meter as we found out one night after a wedding rehearsal dinner in Iowa City. The test sample size was two city blocks across from the old capital building.

I went to DMACC in 1997 for a year before I went to ISU. They actually had me take a FORTRAN class as an engineering prerequisite. Then I got to Iowa State and started taking Computer Engineering prerequisites and they were shocked that I had taken a FORTRAN class.
