Friday OT #2 - But WHY?

And the warning, "Don't take Zanzifolaris if you're allergic to Zanzifolaris." Duh!

And, "Tell you doctor if you're allergic to Zanzifolaris." Isn't my doctor the one who identified that it was the Zanzifolaris I was allergic to?

I just made up that drug name, sounds realistic doesn't it? Maybe I have a future in drug name development! If I'm not allergic to it.

Yeah, another big ??? for me too. Do lots of people persist in taking drugs that they're allergic to? And as you say how the **** does your doctor not know? Do people go out and troll for medications they're allergic to to treat psoriasis? Wtf?

Also, while your medication name sounds legit...what's up with the real ones that are weird? I saw an add for one called "Taltz". Wtf kind of medication name is Taltz? It sounds like it's Yiddish for bird **** or something. Oy, there's taltz all over my new car!

My daughter would say "Jealous?. Sorry had to, nothing personal as I am an old fart!

Ha, about the cutouts or the crop tops? Because 1. I am always cold in my office so the last thing I want are holey clothes! Nor do I need excess confusion at 6:45am trying to figure out which ******* holes my arms are supposed to go through!

And 2. Ain't nobody who looks good sitting down in high waisted pants and a crop top.

People who back into parking spaces rather than pull in them. Overall it's quicker and easier to back into an aisle over a small parking space, thus will save time and effort if done "normal." Bonus points for the people who back into spaces when they could have driven a few extra spots and just drive into a spot through to the next one, allowing them to drive out into an aisle and completely avoid backing up when parking and leaving. Sorry for the rant, however waiting for someone to back into a parking space is a huge pet peeve of mine.
I only back into a space at church because people arrive over a longer period of time and the lot isn't busy but everyone leaves at just about the same time and I don't want to be the guy that backed over a kid running around in the church parking lot.

If the drive lanes are narrow, I back in. If I don't, some jackwagon will be across the drive from me and park about half in. This makes it nearly impossible to back out a pickup or suburba

I just don't get the mustache/goatee thing....it's SO cliche, especially in Iowa. (Don't forget the ballcap and the sunglasses, too.)

And this business of wearing a 4 or 5 day stubble - do women really find that attractive? (Am I showing my age yet?)
No goatee - full beard & stache, trimmed. Mostly grey. On bad hair days he looks like Kris Kristofferson (has even given autographs). Mostly though, he looks like a somewhat skinnier Santa.

Related to that — a common thing in those ad spots is, "Ask your doctor if Varzitan is right for you." ... Well, if it's "right" for me, I'd hope my doctor is aware it exists and might suggest I try it — with or without the marketing campaign.

I fabricated "Varzitan." I was inspired by MeanDean :) ... we can co-found a pharmaceutical-nomenclature consulting firm.

Here's mine, related to ED commercials: "If you have an (you know what) lasting longer than four hours, call your doctor immediately." Does that mean at the 4:01 mark? Or do you just estimate when four hours has gone by? What's magic about four hours? I would think if you lasted four hours, one of you would have been complaining for at least three.

That probably partially depends on how many of you there are...

Haven't gone through the whole thread but sure by now everything I would say has been said.

I'll second a couple that I did see. The vocabulary used today i.e adulting, bae, AF, and people buying jeans that come with tears in them.

True dat, just a general comment meant to be funny

I may be alone on this one, but I doubt it. Since last football season, I have truly been baffled by our quarterback's hair. Long hair I get. Short hair I get. That hair confuses the heck out of me. Shaved front mullet-fro. Kinda falls into the category of man buns and hipters for me.

Law and order (especially SVU)

Torture porn (movies which have very violent/graphic torture scenes e.g. human centipede or the saw franchise), though I don't like horror movies at all.

Ice cream trucks: so this one probably takes more explaining, but Des Moines didn't have ice cream trucks when I was growing up so I wasn't exposed to them until I was in college. So when I see/hear them, I thin of a strange adult driving slowly through a neighborhood playing dinky music and having ice cream which brings all the children running. So it's like the pied piper.

Country Music, Nascar and those ####ing billy goat beards. Just because I farm and live in southwest Iowa, everyone assumes I like country music. Give me rock music all day long.

Those hipster stocking caps when it's 90 degrees out.

My old guy rant - Emojis can DIAF already. I don't want to see a string of 12 emojis and try to figure out whatever the **** you're attempting to say. Use these things called words.
