Friday OT #2 - AMA

@Angie , what are the top 5 musical artists/groups that you've been listening to the past couple weeks?

Ooh. This is a hard one. Let me look at my Spotify rotation for the past week:

- Sufjan Stevens (his new album is great)
- Megan Thee Stallion
- Hey Steve (a tiny weird-ass little band out of Nashville that used to be called Republican Hair)
- K. Flay
- J. Cole

How about you?

Impressive! I can't match the depth of your musical spectrum unfortunately.

I'd say my top 5 lately have been....

-Manchester Orchestra
-Mt. Joy
-Gary Clark Jr.
-Vulfpeck
-Maggie Rogers

I absolutely love every single one of those bands, and they're in heavy rotation! <3

I am a very moody music listener - I have some main genres, but what I want to listen to really depends on my mood?

What is your favorite shampoo and conditioner?

I'm going to guess this is more for the dudes, so hopefully someone will tap in.

For women, anyway, this is far more niche. I just last night spent far more money than seems reasonable to order three different products from DevaCurl, which is one of the leading hair product companies for people w/super curly hair to help fight frizz.

I've head they are good. I have no curly hair so alas.

I started using Shea Moisture a couple years ago and that + prenatal + no time to blow dry every morning seem to have really improved my hair.

When ISU plays UNLV next year in Vegas (assuming fans allowed) you want to come to my house for a cocktail? Strictly platonic!!... You just strike me as a fun person to have a cocktail with.

Man, we had a blast when we came to the @UNLV game back 12 years or so ago!

I almost hate to even say anything but have you read about the pending lawsuits against DevaCurl? I used them for almost 2 years and really liked it but stopped at the beginning of the year when I starting hearing there were a lot of complaints. This time last year, I cut my shoulder-length hair super short because it had gotten so thin and stringy. I can't prove that it was DevaCurl, but it didn't seem worth the risk to me to keep using it. Unfortunately, I don't know that my hair has gotten much better, and I'm still trying to find a good combo of products. It's definitely a complicated and expensive process.

I did NOT know that! Well, I'm going to cancel that - THANK YOU!

Do you have any better product suggestions for curls?

I'm currently using Not Your Mothers brand Blue Sea Kale line for shampoo and conditioner because it contains proteins like DevaCurl does so I'm hoping that will be similar. I have an entire drawer full of products that I've tried or am currently trialing in different combinations.

The Curly Hair subreddit is my go-to for lists of products and product reviews. There's a ton of good information in the banner drop downs/sidebar. Unfortunately, it seems like every product works great for someone and terrible for someone else due to variation in curl types so I try to find posts that seem similar to my type and see what they use.

Good luck! Feel free to message if want to talk more details!
