Is there a website you can go to that shows what has already fallen and accumulated, as well as what may come?
Traveling to West Iowa this afternoon and wondering how soon I should leave work.

It's been coming down for about an hour here in the cedar valley. Just now starting to accumulate.
Weather.gov has a wealth of info, too. This is "water"precipitation.

That's what I thought too. Living in southern Iowa blows for fans of snow. Well probably just get to deal with rain and mud.
My supply run to the nearest trading post was a success. The oxen performed mightily and I did not have any encounters with natives or wolves. The only hiccup was a broken spoke in a wagon wheel on the way home. Luckily I was carrying a spare wheel and fixed it in a jiff. Now I am off to warm the house with the wood burning stove and hopefully survive the 50 year blizzard.
Been snowing here in Sioux Center since about 645 this morning. I would say we have 7 inches or so on the ground and the wind is much more than what was predicted. Getting close to 30mph gusts. It does look to be north of the original path, but with us still straight in the cross hairs. Good thing I stocked up on beer and cheetos.
