I was expecting the worst this morning. Thankfully the driveway had enough heat that it melted most of the snow on it. Grass is pretty deep though. I need to find a sledding hill in the Cedar Valley now.

Whur pictures of snow on decks, birdfeeders and driveways?

BTW, the map in the previous post did get me to check to see if snow brush, ice scraper and winter shovel were in the trunk yet. They were not.

You'd think after all these years I'd remember which one is Story county, I think it's one of the square ones.
Smack in the middle, with the 7.3, 4.0 & 5.0. Easiest way to find it is by finding Polk, which has the funky lower right corner partially obscured by the 4.3 in the picture. Another key is that they are all the same size on our tier through Marshall, then you have the three tall counties, Tama, Benton & Linn.

Can you tell I work with the counties quite a bit? ;)

Putting the peeping tom cam to good use finally.

You're a camera pro. Can you recommend some settings so that this would turn out better?

This is on a D5000 with a Nikon DX 18-55mm

I bumped up the exposure compensation to 0.7

Kept it in S mode with a 5.6 aperture

Turned of the auto focus

Set the interval timer to 15 minutes.

This is my first year of homeownership, and I figured I would shovel and be fine. I shoveled in high school and don't remember it being bad; either I was in a lot better shape in high school, or I have a bad memory because that ******* sucked. An investment in a snowblower might be in my future

We figure we need one when the last teenager goes to college. Husband and I still help, house sits on several lots so the sidewalk is a big pain.

Nope. **** that ****. Never doing that again. Madison for the in-laws thanksgiving. I better get something really good (if you know what i mean) for taking 9 his to do an 4.5 hour drive.

Son of a ***** that ******* sucked ***.

Glad you got there safe. Hope the return drive is better and the turkey isn't too dry.

Not exactly sure.
Have a corner lot on NW end of town. I get half of the snow and other 1000 houses get other half. A spec home is going up kiddycorner NW of me in new development. That person is going to hate that. We all got together when we built and said screw sidewalks, so that saved some.

Our deck and back "yard"...

I'm guessing about 5 inches of snow here...

I think we need a snow blower. I'm going to have killer arms and abs until then though.
