I only bring it up because people bring him into Greatest of All Time discussions.
Unless he were to still deliver on his 8-peat, last year's finals choke kind of already kills that when you look at Jordan and Russel. Of course the little kiddies are clueless about that though.
To be fair to LeBron it's only Wade and message board fans claiming they're the greatest of all time though.
Most athletes peak in their late 20's early 30, LeBron is just entering his peak just like Jordan was when he won his first title. I don't think anyone would be shocked if the Heat run off three or four titles in a row.
I have no problem with free agency at all. I still don't get why people think we have to like Miami when we have life long favorite teams that are NOT Miami. I started disliking Miami over a decade ago for their thug style of play, the guy responsible is still running the team. I didn't like them when they won a title in '06 because I thought it was suspicious how Wade shattered records for being fouled in a Finals...but I'm a LEBRON HATER now for not ditching my team for Miami.

This. Literally nobody in this thread has said that people HAVE to like the Miami Heat.
Nobody has said that Lebron is better than MJ. Nobody has said he's the best to ever play the game. The guy just won his first championship with a phenomenal playoff and finals performance, and HFCS immediately goes to the well with "Well he choked in the Finals last year"

Exactly. There's a huge difference between saying LeBron is better than Jordan and saying it's way too early to judge his legacy at 27. When Jordan was 27, he was viewed as a ballhog who was too soft to get past Detroit. Your legacy is not defined in your mid 20s.
What does "hater" mean if not criticizing people for not liking LeBron or Miami. I'd be rich if I had a nickel for every non-positive Heat comment met with hater.
If you think the biggest statistical choke in NBA Finals history should not be brought up when comparing who is the greatest player of all time, frankly you're an idiot.

There is nothing in Jordan's nine first NBA seasons or college and Olympic career comparable to LeBron's 2011 Finals.
I'm not a "hater" for saying that, it means I'm old enough and a big enough general NBA fan to have actually OBSERVED BOTH IN REALITY.

I've said probably 100 times that he's the most talented player not just today, but EVER, EVVVVVVVER. Because of last year's Finals, which was the biggest choke ever by the numbers, I wasn't ready to say he was easily the MVP. I though it could have been 50/50 with him or Durant because Durant had more points, rebounds, blocks and wins this year. After the Finals this year redeeming his performance from last year I am 100% agreeing that LeBron is the best player on the planet, quite clearly. Not just the most talented, but most valuable in every way.
It seems to me you're saying I'm irrational because I really don't like Miami or LeBron, Wade and Riley as people. It's not irrational to dislike a sports team any more than it is rational to like Iowa State or my favorite team the Bulls. I've disliked Miami before I even knew who LeBron James was.

I don't know about that, but Durant is definitely a stud. Don't get me wrong, I really like OKC. I had zero dog in this fight. (My favorite team is the TWolves) OKC was an awesome team to watch this year. They play an exciting brand of basketball that is a blast to watch, compared to the Heat, who find a little bit boring in comparison. I love their home crowd and they've got some great personas on the roster.
But you've got to give credit where credit is due. The Heat are just flat out a better team than OKC, this year. Lebron was dominant. He was clearly the best player in this series, and it really wasn't even close.
I don't hate LeBron, but I do hate the instant arrogance Miami showed when he signed there. LeBron backers conveniently forget his "not one, not two, not three, not four..." speech.
Remember as a kid when someone would trade for John Elway, Cris Carter and Barry Sanders because it was fun playing with the best guys? Yeah, anyone can win a title under those circumstances. That's all Miami did. Enjoy your title, but know that most people would respect it more had you not piggybacked onto someone elses's team.

1. LeBron was coming off the biggest statistical choke in NBA Finals history (if you have a problem with that take it up with reality, not me)
2. Durant had more points
3. Durant had more wins
4. Durant had more rebounds
5. Durant had more blocks

After the finals showing last year's disappearing act is not the norm, he's clearly the best player on the planet. I'll say for the 109383556th time that I think he's the most talented basketball player ever, maybe the most talented of any athlete in any sport.
