This is just something ive heard over the past day, i dont know if its gotten out yet or if its old news... What i've heard is that Hundertmark and Nielson, the two iowa commitments from Humboldt, had a party and their principal caught them. So what this means is that there is a chance Ferentz will not allow them on the football team so they will have to reopen there recruitment.

That seems like a big stretch. I think whomever told you that must have been drinking at the party :-)

I dont know... i kind of trust him considering the 2 recruits are in our grade and are like 20 miles away and our school competes against them so its not like its just a guess.

Kids drink. I did, I imagine most of you did. I think it is a BIG stretch that Kirk would turn them away because they partied underage. It happens but I don't think it is big enough for Iowa to say no thank you to them. Even though it would be nice for ISU.

Drinking? Underage? Parties?

They're just in the off-season training program for Iowa.

Actually they are priming for Iowa City. They need to be able to handle the limit.

[/b][/quote] They definitely won't want to come to ISU. Ames City Ordinance forbids minors in bars while minors are allowed in the bars at Iowa City. If Berryman was in Iowa City, he would still be on the football team. The whole issue will be swept under the rug and they will be Hawks.

when did this happen? i know hundertmark was turned in just before state track and missed state track. he went down to iowa city that following monday to tell Ferentz himself. his football coach, who is also the AD, took him down there. he was told it would be worse publicity to pull the scholarship for that than for them to keep his scholarship. nielsen was not at the party. i recieved all of this information from my sister who goes to school with them and has classes with them. like i said, unless this is a new situation in which it would be hundertmarks second offense and would miss football completely.

I'm pretty sure this is a whole new thing... because I was just told about it this weekend, and he said he didnt think they would be at iowa! I will try and figure out more from him tonight, maybe i misunderstood him but im pretty sure i heard correctly!

I guess Nielson just got caught and Hudertmark nothing has happend since his last thing during track... He now thinks that nothing will go wrong w/ them going to iowa!

There was more to Berryman being dismissed than just being in the bar. That's all I'm saying. Mac was justified to give him the boot.
