Couldn’t find two better towns 10 miles apart for names. But I do like the old "Manly man marries Fertile woman".
If you went to Crestwood you definitely are from NEIA.I get you. I attended Crestwood High School . Grew up living slightly west of 63 and I KNOW I grew up in NE Iowa.![]()
I’d have to think on the best sandwich ever but one that would certainly be in the running came to my head instantly. It was in San Diego at a Deli in Little Italy. I had a project there most of 2019 and I went here regularly.

Chucktown still has more shopping than Cresco or New Hampton (it’s close to double the population of either), but I would wager both have higher home values.I played baseball there on occasion and we went there for the mall that is no more. Town I grew up in was about pop 700 and Chuck Town had moderately better shopping (at that time, anyway) than Cresco or New Hampton. I understand what you are saying, though.
In Dubuque my favorite is Jersey Mikes. Not a lot of local sandwich places (or at least convenient for me).
When I lived in Clive, Palmer's was my go to sandwich place. Loved the Turnberry- smoked turkey with cranberry chutney cream cheese spread. Awesome. Plus they had great sweets - lemon bars, brownies and rocky road bars.
Makes my stomach growl!!!
Correct. Primanti Bros sucks and has only become the 'thing' that they are do to great marketing.I can tell you the one place that I heard so many great things about but left a little disappointed, Primanti bros in Pittsburgh. The bread sucked and overall just kind of sucked.

THIS. Anything west of Lansing or south of New Albin is not NE Iowa.

We all know about Riceville, ahem. It's...uh...noted for its "deep thinkers".If you went to Crestwood you definitely are from NEIA.
If you went to Riceville? That’s a different story.
Oh hell yeah brotherI am NOT sorry for derailing this into an Iowa geography debate.
Deep thinkers and methheads are not the same thing. We all know about Riceville, ahem. It's...uh...noted for its "deep thinkers".
As a partial product of that system, there’s a reason I always refer to McIntire as my home townWe all know about Riceville, ahem. It's...uh...noted for its "deep thinkers".
