I think it’s better than it was 10 years ago, but it’s definitely the stepchild of the region.I don’t drink anymore but I’ve heard this. That town is a ******** though. I work there occasionally.

There were 3 elementary schools in Minnesota that were closer to my home farm than the one I attended (which was the district we lived in). That Rochester station gave me identity issues as a kid. Didn’t know what state I was growing up in.
Twin Cities I’m going with Cosetta’s Italian market in St PaulTwin Cities.
Best Subs: Erberts and Gerberts.
Best Banh Mi: Mi-Sant (These are terrific and I highly recommend them)
Maybe the best sub I've ever had is from Bo Diddley's in St. Cloud, MN. Seems like a weird place to have that good of a sub. Maybe I've just been really hungry every time I've been there.

I eat half a 25 and half a 13 then lay on the couch for an hourHalf of a #25, please.
Can confirm, my mom is from New Albin and Dad is from Lansing.THIS. Anything west of Lansing or south of New Albin is not NE Iowa.

Jersey Mike's for what is around me and I can get quickly/easily.Curious what everyone's favorite sandwich shop is where you live? I'm in the Des Moines metro, so it's mostly franchises. My favorites around here are Wich Which, B&B Grocery (The Killer), and Jersey Mike's for a good Philly.
Everything Cosetta's makes is terrific but I haven't had a sandwich from there so I can't really judge at this time.Twin Cities I’m going with Cosetta’s Italian market in St Paul
Do it! I visited Tucson for the first time last year and Eegees is worth a visit. My girlfriend grew up there and Eegees is at the top of the list of things she misses. We didn't eat but their drinks are great. I don't know how to categorize them. They are like a slushy, frozen yogurt, orange julius combination. Also off topic, checking out Tucson for the first time next week and I have this place saved.
I get you. I attended Crestwood High School . Grew up living slightly west of 63 and I KNOW I grew up in NE Iowa.Agreed, but 10 miles on either side and it can be a big difference.
63 just seemed convenient. Being in Cresco I hear comments like “it’s a different world west of 63” or “you’re basically in South Dakota once you get past Davis Corners” on a regular basis. In this little corner of the world, it seems like a universally recognized transition point from the plains to the Driftless
I played baseball there on occasion and we went there for the mall that is no more. Town I grew up in was about pop 700 and Chuck Town had moderately better shopping (at that time, anyway) than Cresco or New Hampton. I understand what you are saying, though.I don’t drink anymore but I’ve heard this. That town is a ******** though. I work there occasionally.
True. And then there's Britt...It’s a crap hole, no one wants to claim it so is NC Iowa people says it’s NE iA.
