Textile has a tequila barrel-aged barleywine right now that's delicious. You have to like tequila because it's heavy on the barrel.

Me too, but their Jack O' is some nasty ****. I mean, it's a beer that tastes almost exactly like pumpkin pie, but it's a beer that tastes almost exactly like pumpkin pie. I was not prepared.
I've not tried that one. I do not generally like beers that are overly pumpkin spiced. A really bad one off the top of my head is Leinenkugels pumpkin beer, Harvest Patch Shandy.

I haven’t found Backpocket Clonefest up here, but I loved it last year.
Is that a thing? I've always wanted to try Backpockets version of Oktoberfest, but something petty inside of me can't get over the black and yellow cans and the name "Hawktoberfest". Too many other options to stoop to that level

Yes, it’s a thing. I hate that Hawktoberfest is good.

I'm impatiently waiting for Barntown to come out with their S'more Stout again; that usually gets me through the fall/winter.

Wanted to do a side-by-side between Clonefest and Hawktoberfest, but couldn’t bring myself to buy the latter after that game this year. Still a bad taste in my mouth.

I had some TG Fresh Batch Series S'mores. It was ok, similar to what you would get from a barntown pastry sour.

Heading down to KC this weekend and hope to get some stuff from BKS and Alma Mader.

On a side note, I got tickets to Lua's 2nd anniversary dinner. It better be killer for the price..

Are they not the same recipe? I assumed they were but just in different packaging.

Am I imagining this or did I recently she a House Divided type can from Backpocket that at least the can label was 1/2 clonefest looking and half hawktoberfest looking?

Yep. Bitter Rivals double IPA by Backpocket. 9.4% ABV.

What typically released in the fall beers have you had that are good.

Confluence has an Octoberfest and a Fresh Hop Amarillo IPA that are on point.

Franktoberfest from Franklin Street is decent and The Kaiser Imperial Octoberfest from Avery is excellent if you can find it.

Also had a Festbier from River City Brewing in Wichita that was pretty good.

In case anyone is interested the HyVee on Douglas has The Kaiser. At 8% it’s a little boozier than most Octoberfest beers but still very smooth.

From Avery:
The Kaiser once said, “Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world.” If the Kaiser and his significant other had tipped this bottle, we’d all be “sprechenden Deutsch!” We took all that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest – gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent Noble hops – then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest.

Sadly, for some reason I've noticed the last few years the festbiers just don't agree with my stomach. When I first started enjoying 'craft' beer, Sam Adams Octoberfest was my go-to for any time of year and was sad it was only seasonal.

I saw this drop from Barn Town. I'm not necessarily a junkie for sours, but this sounds amazing.
