Oh my god.... they are flying engineers to a data center in California to try and fix it one Data Center at a time.... This is gonna be a long time before it's all handled if they need physical access lolololol

anyone ever think about that small facebook city in Altoona/Bondurant that has been created and still being expanded if they were to go out of business? its like 4-5 million SF of data center space...lol. I don't remember the actual SF, but its not small.

I suppose they could sell it to someone like Amazon, Google, Microsoft or Apple?

ya, I just took a run out there to see if anything exciting was happening. Nothing at the office, but construction is going hell bound for leather. They've used up one square mile of land and now have hopped the road to the north of it and are building two more gigantic buildings, bigger than any that they've built so far. So they are on pace to fill up their second square mile of land. All of this is in Altoona. If I'm not mistaken, Facebook just went to the city council in May for approval for the construction of more buildings on down the road. It's at 4+ million sq. ft. already and shows no signs of being finished.

I would guess that there are a thousand construction worker's cars parked on the property and a whole complex has been built just for the workers that are on site. They must be housing and feeding at least some of them. It truly is looking like a Facebook City. Done reporting from Facebook City, Altoona, Iowa!

I’d tell you you’re incorrect. Not even close to the same thing…

I’ll grant you there are some similarities, but the anonymity and the fact that people aren’t posting mundane pics of their meals takes it way out of the realm of Facebook. However, the hatefulness is not lost on these message boards- so maybe you’re onto something.

There was literally a thread on here about food people make.

Also there is a very active thread on “what are you drinking “…

This is a lot closer than many think or will admit.
