Face-eaters should be banned...

and yet drunk drivers kill how many people a year? but let's keep that legal and keep a drug that has been linked to one homicide off the streets. justice!

forget about whether he should have skipped the dope and smoked the rope, this was not a nice guy. too bad he didn't slowly and in great agony.

Meh, I still believe it was bath salts, or at least something other than pot. It makes the story better if it was some odd drug. But pot? Come on...

Does it really matter what drug he was "on" when that probably wasn't the real issue anyway?

The Miami case represents the tragedy of untreated mental illness, not drug use alone. While mental illness can be exacerbated by marijuana and other drugs, such cases shouldn’t lead to criminal crackdowns. That’s not to say that people should be allowed to take drugs that haven’t been thoroughly tested on humans — but current policies didn’t keep marijuana away from a seriously mentally ill man either. If we want to prevent such violence, we need to focus on its genuine causes, not sensational claims about what drugs “make†people do.

I'd point out how right you are, and the obvious conclusion--but that would get this sent straight to the Cave--or closed entirely by people who couldn't stand the thought of a "dry" JTS.
