So Max will probably have this thing wrapped up by what? end of July? Maybe he can just sit out the second half of the season and we can see if anybody else can win. Or start him from the pit lane everytime just for the hell of it.

With Max on a different planet, and the Ferrari and Aston Martin cars being crap, this race really wasn't that interesting. Very impressive showing from Mercedes with their new upgrades though.

Aside from the commercials the Indycar race today was much more exciting, when nobody including his teammate can catch Max it doesn't make for a great watch.

Yeah, generally speaking, the Indycar racing has been great this year. A lot of the races coming down to battles for the win on the last lap. I understand you don’t get free TV without commercials, but they need to figure out how to limit it or better incorporate it. My thought has actually been more commercial breaks, but only 1 30 second commercial each time.

Racing just isn’t conducive to commercial breaks.

I don’t know why they couldn’t get a single sponsor like F1 does with Mother’s to have no commercials.

I think it might be possible for them in the future, if they can grow the sport. The problem with Indycar, is to everyone outside of serious race fans, after the Indy 500, the season is an afterthought.

F1 still gets the glitz and glamour side as well. F1 had Michael Douglas and Katherine Zeta Jones today, Indycar had Flavor Flav. Don’t get me wrong, I’d much rather hang out with Flavor, but he’s not Hollywood royalty.

Indy needs to power the field. To many drivers to get to know and to many wrecks in the race with people fighting for 26th place. F1 has 20 guys and we know all their names and who they drive for. Indy might want to lower the number of cars each team can enter. Basically format everything exactly like F1.

This season is getting really boring. Red Bull and Max have it basically wrapped up already. Merc and AM might be in a race for second. Ferrari is being Ferrari. The rest of the field lacks any excitement. None of the new drivers are out performing expectations.

I find myself way more interested in the quali than the actual races.

Must just be differences of opinion. I thought yesterday’s race was great. I don’t like Max winning everything, but I just ignore him. The overtakes and movement during the race was fun to watch. A lot of storylines going on.

From a drivers championship perspective, it’s over just hand it to Max. Everything else still seems to move around a lot.

Did think it was kind of funny that Max was in danger of getting a track limits penalty even though he was so far ahead. Must have just put it on autopilot.

I liked it too because I've already accepted that Max was going to win by as much as he wanted too. There was a lot to watch throughout the field, seeing just how much better Mercedes was, Sainz/Russell/Perez battle for the last podium spot was up in the air until the last couple laps, I think it was Zhou/KMag/Tsunoda that had a great battle for a long time.

If only Lando didn't go from hero to zero in the second turn....

Their radio back and forth after his 3rd limits warning was pretty funny. On the broadcast you just heard them telling him not to risk the fastest lap, followed immediately by him easily setting the fastest lap.

He made it clear he could have won by way more than 20 seconds if he wanted to. Fastest lap? Yeah I can get that first try.
