Euro 2020

I'd think so unless they can find a for sure cause and can treat it. That can be tricky sometimes.

I know there's a lot of money at stake, but that'd get me to walk away from any contract.

It helps that he has played for big clubs on a pretty decent wage for a good amount of time in Tottenham and Inter. He *shouldn’t be* hurting for money.

So Eriksens career is likely over, right?
Not necessarily. Soccer players get physicals before every new season and I’m sure sometimes during season as well. Eriksen has never had any problems with his heart before. European football hasn’t had a real break for its players since last year before the 2020 season started. Since then you’ve had the start of the 2020 season, international matches, COVID isolation where players continue to push themselves to stay in shape in case they start playing again, finishing of the 2020 seasons, a very short break, the 2021 season, champions league matches on a weekly basis on top of league games, more international matches. So it’s been a very long time and I think it was a very unfortunate case for Eriksen, but these guys just need a nice break from their sport

He probably has a heart condition and it’s going to be recommended that he quit, or maybe die on the field again.

I don’t see any scenario where he doesn’t retire. Sucks but at least he still has his life.

Time to work on those coaching badges or those broadcaster chops. He’s probably one the top 3 most famous Danes in the world right now. Not a bad spot to be in.

The keeper crashing into the net was just icing on the cake.

As someone who isn't real in-tune with soccer strategy, can someone explain why the keeper was that far up the field?

usually a keeper is used as a pass back from the defense if they dont have a lateral or forward pass to make, so they sneak up while they have possession to help out. The turnover surprised them a bit, usually they have time to move back into position before the other team has the ball at midfield.
