Just saw where they let go Samantha Ponder and Robert Griffin due to the old “ budget cuts”. Both with ties to FSU, as are married to FSU athletes, had social media issues. RG3 stood up for FSU on a segment with Paul Finebaum. Finebaum is a d!ck with ears and drinks SEC kool-aid.

Was never a big fan of Ponder on NFL Countdown. Just always thought she was there for as eye candy and not a lot of football knowledge even though her hubby was a QB in the NFL. Wonder who fills the spot! Laura Rutledge??

Since ESPN = SEC, it’s another reason not to watch them anymore!!

I mean, ESPN is a huge reason why Iowa State and the Big 12 are on solid footing right now, so canceling them might not be the best idea.

How are you going to watch ISU?

It’s gotten annoying already. But as long as the league signs TV deals with them, there’s nothing that really can be done. Several podcasts I usually listen to started with some sort of mention of there are only two conferences in college football now. I didn’t finish the podcast that day.

The Big12 and ACC will need to show on the field that they are worth talking about. Otherwise, don’t plan on hearing a mention of them on any pregame or wrap up shows.

RGIII is pretty good, I’m guessing he’ll resurface if he really likes that kind of work. I have every reason to dislike the guy because he’s basically to ISU what Christian McCaffrey is to Iowa but I always like what he has to say.

The games are all I watch on ESPN..I honestly can’t remember the last time I watched an ESPN show.

Agreed. I watched the Fox pregame occasionally last year. Probably going to avoid that one as well come this season. I typically listen to more podcasts during the week talking football. That’s where I’m going to miss the coverage more. Will need to switch over to Big12 exclusive shows to avoid getting sick of the SEC jerk off party.

Outside of ISU and the Big12 conference race, I’ll just be a bigger fan of the NFL and don’t really care about CFB anymore.

Agreed. There’s a lot of opportunity for him to land somewhere with so many networks doing games now.

Thought I saw RGIII was fired because he worked with another network during the draft? Could be misremembering though.

RGIII one of their few analysts I didn’t mute.

I hate ESPN slightly less than I used to as they now give me women’s sports like never before. Looking forward to volleyball.

Agreed I like Rg111, he will find another gig.

It'll be hard to ignore it but yeah I'm already mostly that way, watch ISU then scroll scores then watch the niners, chiefs, Vikings jets and packers on Sunday

I bet your viewership might start encompassing more CFB as ISU makes a couple playoffs.

ESPN content outside of live sports absolutely sucks right now. Plus, they slant their coverage heavily towards sports they have more coverage rights to (they spend the first half of summer talking about nothing but the NBA, then the second half of summer talking about the NFL … it’s like baseball doesn’t even exist).

I realize highlight/score shows aren’t the pull they once were in the age of the internet, but I’d personally still enjoy watching that once in a while. Instead it’s a nonstop diet of ex-athletes and media veterans yelling at each other about how the other’s opinions are wrong. There’s zero “news” content any more, it’s all opinions, hot takes, and projections about who will finish where.

ESPN Radio is just as bad. I remember the glory days when I had it locked on Mike & Mike, Tony Kornheiser, and Dan Patrick for a solid six hours or so when I could listen at work. You know what I heard yesterday, when I had it on in my car for part of a two-hour drive? The “Unsportsmanlike” morning show team complaining about how one of the afternoon show hosts was claiming his show was better than theirs. They spent probably 20 minutes at least (maybe more, I got in on the middle of it and left before they were done ranting) doing nothing but trash talking the afternoon guy and proclaiming about how great their show is.

Utter trash. It’s so sad to see what they‘ve become. But yeah, at least they still have live game coverage sometimes.

David Pollock was probably the only ESPN College Gameday hosts that I liked... so of course ESPN got rid of him last year... or the year before... can't remember.

Anyway... it seems that if you're not super loud and obnoxious (like Stephen A. Smith or Pat McAfee).. then you're fired. It's terrible.

Pollock is a GA legend and I actually thought he was more of a straight shooter than most would be in that position.

I LOVE the Fox radio program with T. J. Houshmandzadeh, Plaxico Burress, and Lavar Arrington. LOVE IT.
I thought Plax was a clown when he played but he is a great no nonsense guy. I hope that show stays put.

Really surprised by all the RGIII love in the early stages of this thread. I don’t think he’s good at all. He tries too hard to be someone else.

Sam Ponder has never been really good either. Is she sexy? Well…yeah…but she’s a sideline reporter. That is her ceiling. She broke through that ceiling for a while, but she’s not meant for that space.
