We have an NCAA record holder leading our team. Good times ahead for Iowa State basketball.

Great read, and I'm sure many more articles to come on Monte and the talent he brings to the Cyclones.

If Monte stays anywhere near that 4.79+ ratio it's going to be a goooooood year.

There's nothing that's happened in his life that suggests it isn't going to be better! All that kid does is improve, and that is very, very good news for ISU!

Too lazy to post, but Google him and there is a great feature video done about him in high school by a news channel in Michigan....i remember watching it before he arrived and it was obvious he's a winner, he showed it last year and stories like this continue to proved he is.

Another energizing feature for the fanbase. This off-season attention is becoming addictive.

Several excerpts I liked, but this one stands out (italics are my emphasis):

" ... that showed me at a young age what passes not to make."

That might help explain the assist-to-turnover stuff.

Another favorite: "dribbling an invisible basketball."

Yeah, I definitely remember the interview happened for sure. I don't think it was an article either, but rather a preseason or summer Cyclones.tv interview. I also remember thinking uh-oh after it, boy, I hope CFH can find a way to keep this kid happy. I know he wasn't mad, but just expressed a little dissapointment is all. Wish I had a link, but I don't remember the interview getting much publicity either, but I definitely remembered it simply for the fact that I thought it might come back to bite us later on possibly. Guess not though. In CFH we trust.

yep....the interview happened. I remember being a bit nervous because monte was NOT pleased. But credit to him for not pouting and getting better. By the end of the year monte knew how valuable Kane was to him.
