Emmanuel Malou

I am in no way a fan of Self, but I have heard just the opposite about Self. I spoke with someone (not a KU fan, but a BB guy) who was at a gathering where Self was. He said that when Self came in the room he had a rare charisma that made you feel like Self was talking exclusively to you. He worked the room and when he spoke to someone he always remembered their name no matter how long ago or how infrequently they had met and he remembered personal details about every person.

Recruiting against that is always going to be tough.
Yes but Bill Clinton also has this charisma and it doesn't make him less a creeper. Just saying (but yeah despite it I still like the guy so point taken).

If you haven't, go listen to yesterday's football podcast. Start about 12 in. Brief mention.

CW says he predicts we will get Malou, and that he might be our best recruit since Brackins (not counting transfers). Its at about 12:40. He didn't predict when it would happen...just said "soon".
I agree with the analysis that he could be the best recruit since Brackins. Malou looks like the real deal. If we somehow get him and White, a starting lineup in 16-17 of Morris (I don't see him going pro), Cooke, Burton, Malou, and Whiten SB not only tall but also one of the most physical combinations of your front court and backcourt in the NCAA. Me likey!

With today possibly the day that E. Malou decides to come to Ames I think we should take a second to appreciate Fanatic's dedication and attention given to his recruitment. Malou has been on this boards radar for 4 years, from an unknown Australian prospect playing at a small start-up basketball school in Iowa, which ultimately failed him acedemically, through Junior College with a raise of profile and receiving of high major offers and (fingers crossed) finishing up at ISU. Emmanuel has went from "Ghost" prospect to starting SF/PF for the team next year.

Wow! You're saying he's better than Royce?

His recruitment story has become so legendary that he certainly seems like a myth (for cripes sake, he's from Australia). I think we need to fill in some more of his backstory from his days growing up down under. Stuff like:

He tamed the Tasmanian Devil and it is now more of a Tasmanian Angel.

The Sidney Opera House was built with extra high vertical spaces to allow for better accoustics and accomodate Emmanuel Malou's vertical leap.

Well, I can see this is going to be a super-productive work day.
