Im im dating myself here.....way before twitter....but there was a day when Iowa state would send out a list of potential recruits and as a kid in their kids club you could write said recruits to persuade them to come to Iowa state. Obviously....illegal now.
Wasnt there a story with Hoiberg get like 1000 letters or something from kids and folks in Ames which sealed the deal for him staying home (because he actually knew a lot of them)....hmm maybe if it worked once......
I just imagine that Southpark Meme where Stan is at his computer with sperm all over the place is what it's like whenever they get a reply/favorite/retweet
He said Iowa State stopped recruiting him for a while, then on 4/13/15, he said they started again. He said, Ÿeah I got a lot more that wont make my top 5 list but its gonna be tough to choose between kansas and Iowa state¨
I thought it was a giant card or something that a 1000 had signed and they gave him on his official visit. He said he personally knew about half of the people who signed it and it convinced him how special it would be to play in front of all of the local people who knew and supported him.
IRRC, Arizona had done it first, on his visit, with 1,000+ signatures that said something like, "we want you here!" ISU responded and was clearly more awesome at the stunt :biggrin:
That may have been it too... so maybe we need a giant get well (ps. don't go to the NBA ever)card that few thousand fanatics can sign
Let me get this straight. There's been some discussion if we've even kept contact with Malou and some posters are claiming he didn't look like a big12 player. Now someone says he tweeted them that it would be tough for him to pick between us and Kansas? Kansas? Seriously?
