Emerald Coast Classic in 2020?

I haven't checked how this works for other teams and tournaments, but I wouldn't be too surprised if ESPN has teams grouped up essentially to rotate through these things.

Probably not, but it would seem organized and tidy.

Emerald Coast Classic is not an ESPN event.

An NCAA rule change killed that tournament - it used to be "exempt" tournaments (where you could play 3 games but only counted for 2 on your schedule) could not be played on the continental US. Once they changed that, the cost and weather associated with Alaska eliminated it for the bigger schools. I do think it would be a great place to go - but think I would prefer to be there in the summer.
Alaska is continental. I think you mean contiguous.

Initially i was a little disappointed when I saw Emerald Coast Classic after Maui Invitational and Battle for Atlantis next year but, if the field is Iowa State, Oregon, Florida and Illinois it should be a great event. Granted Oregon, Florida and Illinois are down this year but all have a bunch of talent coming in this year and next and should be quad 1 games in 2020. Obviously a lot can change in 2 years but potential is there.

I guess I'm slow today. The banner says both 2019 (top) and 2020 ( bottom). Is it advertising 2 years worth of the event?

Any 2020 tourney would be a letdown after Maui and Atlantis so what were we really expecting. I am hoping that sometime soon we are in the CBE Classic in KC again

iirc there’s a rule where teams have to wait 4 years between same events so even the Dukes and Kansas can’t go to Maui every other year.

The Emerald Coast Classic may not have the prestigious history of some other tournaments but like you said, some quality opponents.

Really the only other tournament id have liked to have seen isu in 2020 was Diamond Head so i had an excuse to go back to Hawaii haha

Through the tournament. I think the courtside seats were only available from them.
It was general admission. We sat in the first row of the actual stands (I think some big donors got to sit on the side of the court) for the Illinois game. For VaTech, we were maybe 5 rows up. Great little venue. I recommend the Holiday Inn that was listed on the event's website - right on the beach and a reasonable price.

Team stayed at the Sandestin last time I believe. My wife and I got a condo on the beach for the week for super cheap.

What airport do most people fly into?
A lot of people flew into Atlanta last time. You can fly into Destin’s airport but I’m now sure how much more expensive it is. My wife and I drove last time since we stayed for a whole week and drove to visit some friends while we were down there.
