What’s your go to for filling Easter baskets? Seems the variety has taken a hit with Cadbury and Reeces taking over the shelves.

Also, whatever happened to Crunch eggs? Those were the best and I couldn’t find them anymore. And while I do not miss them at all, circus peanuts were always tied to Easter and I don’t recall seeing them on the shelves this year.

Personal favorites:
Lindt bunnies
York Patties
Nerds Jelly Beans
I love Cadbury eggs. :)

Cash, I always loved cash.
My folks did that this year for the grandkids(my kids) My 2 year old son ended up with $36.5 of the $40

Needless to say, grandma was less than pleased with Papa.

My 2 year old on the other hand, was absolutely thrilled

Cash, I always loved cash.

I have told both sets of grandparents no more gift cards. I don’t know how many hours I’ve spent in the Target toy aisles because the GC’s have to be spent. My kids don’t know what they want to spend them on, but they can’t leave empty handed. I fear cash will end up the same way.

My Easter "basket" was Reeses, a bag of Jelly Bellys, and mini spring themed Ghiradelli chocolates. Oh, and Dr Pepper flavored Peeps. We'll see how those are.

I may be stopping at the grocery store tomorrow before work for prime pickings. Reeses will still be high on the list, but I'll be looking for Starburst jelly beans, Lindt bunnies, M&M's spring mix (for trail mix), and Dove's dark chocolate for a friend and her kiddo.

Put the cash in their savins/college fund. Compounding works.

The key to Easter candy is hitting the clearance sale on the right day.

Tomorrow is too soon, late next week desperation pricing sets in, the week after it’s too far gone.

I noticed our are HyVee's really scaled back their Easter candy sets this year. As of Saturday there wasn't hardly anything even left.

I never cared much for peeps either but my mom used to unwrap them and let them sit a day or two and eat them stale. She swore they were much better that way.
Mrs. Velo does the same thing with the miniature marshmallows. She leaves the bag open and waits for there to be a little crust on the outside of them. I can tell when she had a bad day when she stuffs a handful in her mouth after work.

She is a big peeps fan by the way.

Our grandkids FaceTimed with us last night, and after the first "Happy Easter!" we were asked if the Easter Bunny came to our house. I did not lie. Just said we didn't get near as much stuff as they did. Including the Dr Pepper Peeps @SaraV :)

Daughter intensely dislikes Peeps, so no idea why they were even bought. Could have been a Dad thing.

I’m used to the flat Reese’s Easter egg not the Cadbury type Reese’s egg. Seems to be more chocolate than peanut butter.

Do they still make the Cadbury caramel eggs? I could eat a half dozen of those things!
