Dwayne Haskins Dead at 24

I thought for sure I was going to kill a guy my first time driving on 75 north of Dallas. It was practically bumper to bumper multi-lanes of traffic going about 75. I came over a hill and there is a guy walking - not running, not jogging - walking across multiple lanes of traffic. There were cars squeezing into lanes where there was barely enough room and cars going onto the shoulders. I don't know how he didn't get hit or cause a fatal accident but when I honked at him he just flipped me off.

I guess some people don't really care if they live or die.

This is not commentary on what happened to Haskins because we don't have enough information to know what happened.

Seeing the body lying there on the news is awful. I’ve watched too much news lately especially about Bucha….the loss of life is so unfortunate especially when you see it like this. We can’t bring any of them back :(

I knew this would get the Dumb response, but I actually worked with a guy who was the driver who hit somebody and it was ruled a suicide.

Same, former landlord that was coincidentally, living in florida at the time, had a guy swerve into him for a head on collision trying to commit suicide. Didn’t work out for either.

Was up in Minneapolis/St Paul a few years ago and came across the cops/ambulance loading up a body on one of the crossovers don't know if they fell from above or were trying to cross and got hit but there was no extra room were they were picking the body up from.

Don't remember where it was but it did shake me up at the time.

My father told me about several incidents of people arranging for themselves to be hit by trains over the years. Most of these were stories from other railroad veterans, but he had one first-hand experience with something like this. He noticed somebody on the tracks before him, and they threw on the brakes and stopped right before a disheveled, manic, and mentally-deranged man laying across a track. He said they had quite the awkward staring contest for a few moments before the man realized they came just short of hitting him. He then proceeded to rise and disappear into the nearby woods, and the police never found or identified him.

My coworker had a young woman jump in front of him on the highway hoping to kill herself. She pulled over on the side of the road, hid behind her car, ran across the lane and jumped in front of his car.

In the race to see who can be the least tactful with this news, Adam Schefter pulled out to a nearly insurmountable lead, but Gil Brandt rallied for a stunning comeback.

I saw Schefter's now deleted tweet. Holy crap what an insensitive thing to crap on a guy's career in a tweet about his passing.

I knew a girl that got hit by a car walking down I-80 out by Adventureland back in 2011 It was like 1am. Her and her bf got in a fight while they were driving. She made him stop, she got out, he drove off and left her, and the rest is history.

A friend of mine is an engineer. It does happen often, far more than it should. Has happened to him once. He was on paid leave for quite awhile.
Yeah i know of at least 2 families in chicago where there are suspicious deaths involving amtrak trains. Both likely suicides but heavy drinking involved too. Theres some measures in place to stop people from wandering onto tracks but like highways theres 100s of miles of track.

Similar to what happened to the guy I know. This guy walked to the median of the divided highway, looked right at this guy’s car approaching him , and just jumped out in front of him.
