Any backup QB that transfers because he's not starting doesn't follow football enough. How often do starters last an entire season?

FIFYWhen was the last time we had a dropped pass by a WR? -- KNOCK ON WOOD -- It amazes me how these guys keep making miracle catches for TDS. It happens at least once a game now. Lazard had some last year, but now it’s Eaton, Butler, and Jones.
I just started college when TD started. I could be remembering wrong, but it seemed like those lines were pretty good for run blocking. I wouldn't say they were some of the best ever, but I don't think the lines DM has had even sniff those. We should have tacked on 2-3 yards to every carry just to factor in the distance to get to the line of scrimmage from first contact. With Purdy back there and a legit threat to run, we're finally seeing some holes and what he does with them is incredible. I would be willing to bet 189 isn't even close to his career high at the end of the year. TD was great to watch but I do think DM has a few more features. Good discussion. TD definitely wins on production so far.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Mitchell package against Tech, coming off the bye.

I noticed Re-Al warming up between the 3rd and 4th quarter during the WVU game. It obviously would have been an odd time to put him in, but I think it's clear the staff is telling him to stay ready because there must be certain situations they have a plan to get him in.
I mean Jones did drop one against WVU that ended being a potential 14 point swing, but I know what you mean! I have been really impressed with Butler this year. The biggest knock I had for Butler last year was if he could be the number 1 receiver. He seemed to drop a lot, but he has transitioned perfectly!
I imagine Re-Al is being held for a few reasons: to give him more time to get up to Div 1 speed; to give the ISU offense a fresh QB/Wildcat back/HB for late in the season when injuries strike again; to preserve his redshirt.I am actually surprised we haven't seen Re-Al yet as a change of pace wildcat option yet with the new 4 game RS rule. I wonder if the staff is holding that card for late in the season when a spark is needed for the offense.
I presume by "barely able to reach it" you mean "grabbed it enough to stop its momentum towards the endzone, bat it back to himself, but batted it too far back towards the QB so it was almost intercepted".That's hard to call a drop... because he was 4ft in the air, arms extended, and barely able to reach it... hah.
Hopefully the KU game isn’t competitive so he can see a lot of snaps. Likewise for IW. The other two games as needed or able.I imagine Re-Al is being held for a few reasons: to give him more time to get up to Div 1 speed; to give the ISU offense a fresh QB/Wildcat back/HB for late in the season when injuries strike again; to preserve his redshirt.
I fully expect him to see time at KU. It would be a perfect time for him to ease into game play on the road against a bottom dweller team that still has a P5 defense*. They still need to be judicious with his games played since KU would be 5 games from the end of the season and 6 if you include a bowl game.
*I know people will bash the KU defense but in their defense (heh, heh) their offense is only getting 300 yards and 16 first downs a game in conference play so their defense is out there way more than they should be.
Struggled last year to the tune of 45-0 in the rain.Hopefully the KU game isn’t competitive so he can see a lot of snaps. Likewise for IW. The other two games as needed or able.
Maybe I’m misremembering, but KU’s defense isn’t that bad, is it? We struggled with them a year ago, although some of it was intentional by our staff imo.
The offense struggled for most of the game against KU. At the time many played it off as due to the rain, but we now know it was indicative of how unproductive our offense would be once defensive coordinators had tape on our offense without Park.Struggled last year to the tune of 45-0 in the rain.
2 years ago 31-24.
I think what he means is - if either first transfers to Alabama, he'll be a lock. He's a WVU grad. Said Butler's a first round pick and Purdy is two years away from being a Heisman candidate.
